Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary event

I'm glad that some of the photo ops will be in the ballroom and not take away from party time.

We can get to the ballroom by 6is. We need to pick up our stuff and run it back to our hotel. I was debating adding the day to a multi day ticket and going into the park for a few hours, but it looks like there will be some stuff to do at the ballroom!

Where is the Party info?! Not knowing options is incredibly frustrating for a planner like myself. 3 hours is going go by fast. Only 4 food options? Didn’t Pixar have 8? Those food lines are going to be huge with only four. And why can’t the tabs be detached? At least that way parties could wait in different lines to save time. I wanted to put my time to good use, not scrambling from one line to another. Sorry. I just expected more info than what is happening at the hotel.

Also, while I’m happy about the hotel photo options as a time saver, the backdrops better not be curtains or some cardboard. The atmosphere and lighting were going to cool part of the experience.

Honestly, I am waiting with baited breath to see how everything goes on the first night. Not like we can get a refund. The mouse doesn't believe in those apparently.

I don’t mean to be a downer. And yes, for those of us going to the second party can learn from the experiences of the first party goers.

The focus is obviously on the merch. This sounds more like an artist event now. That’s great, but they advertised it more as an event for the fans.

I can not recall any event with so little info. Disney isn’t promoting it at all. With tickets to sell and boatloads of merch ( it seems) you would think we would at least get a blog post about the food offerings, but they skipped right over the event to promote the Oogie Boogie Bash. Just weird.

I’m holding out hope that this means it’s going to be EXTRA special.

I'm hoping it will be a sleeper. Everybody will gloss over it, then it will be awesome and the whole world will be jealous that they didn't get to go!
I’m hoping for the same thing. Especially since it’s not sold out yet

I always keep my expectations in check and then I'm surprised...ha!

It'll fun, a day off from work and we get to play at the Disneyland...already a win! ;) A tease before the D23 Expo.

The tabs probably are not allowed to be detached, so no one may be given additional tabs. You know, it would just be horrible if anyone received 2 beverages. LoL

So I was back on the event page and noticed they changed the list of attractions that would be open during the event. Now it is listing Pirates, Big Thunder, Mark Twain Riverboat and Indy where as before Splash and Tiki room were both listed (wish I had a screen shot of that). Also is it safe to assume Haunted Mansion will be running? Seems kind of silly to celebrate it but not have the ride available during the party.

Oh this has me worried about going the first night now.

My guess is they don't think they will get enough people riding Splash to staff it. Which I kind of agree with. I was trying to decide if I wanted to ride or not - do I really want to be wet at 1am? Unless they do something cool in the other rides I only plan on riding Big Thunder Mountain & Indy - those are the ones that usually have a crazy long line. My guess is we'll be spending a lot of time in line getting the 4 free food/drink items and watching the show.
