Haunted Mansion “hanging man” still there?

Hi. I’m sorry if this is on the forum somewhere. I searched but didn’t find anything.

Does the hanging man still appear on the ceiling at the end of the stretching room experience in the Haunted Mansion now that the overlay is gone? Some family members are going soon and will skip the attraction if it’s still there because it would likely frighten one of their kids. So I’d like to know what to tell them.

Thanks!

Thank you!

Does anybody know if CMs will now let you bypass the stretching room? They do this at WDW, but because the stretching room is an actual elevator at DL I don't think it was previously possible (at WDW they can just take you right around the corner). Didn't they just build a new accessible elevator with the last refurb though? I am not sure if they use it for such, but it is maybe a possibility. I haven't been since the changes, so I don't know much about it.

I am not sure if this is possible since the stretching room is actually an elevator and it is needed to get to the loading area. As for the ADA, I am not sure if this is an option or not. The elevator is between the unload and the load area so even if it an option you would miss the portrait hallway completely.

Honestly unless you look up you won't see the hanging man at all . Is it the actual hanging man or the loud thunder that is frightening?

Thanks for the extra information. I think it would be mostly the sound and light plus some issue with the figure. It all terrified my own eight year old a long time ago but the five year old was fine. This kid who’s going now is more like my oldest. They’re only there one day (which is too bad) so they’ll likely skip this and still have more than enough to do.

They will definitely have plenty to do to if they have only one day.

I haven’t been to DL in many years, but I know the WDW one is so dark that I can’t really make out the figure anymore. If I didn’t already know what it was, I’m not sure I’d be able to make it out, especially as a kid. Now the dark and lightening effects are very real and can be scary on their own.

If the loud thunder might be frightening you might also suggest they skip The Tiki Room, since it has a loud thunder effect.

The ADA elevator for exit is actually after the load area. Guests who need to use the ADA elevator to exit come back around to load and disembark there. They then go down a long hallway to the elevator to exit via that method. The door out from the elevator puts you right at the train station (so opposite side as the exit escalator). I doubt they would ever use it to bring guests in to skip the stretching room.

Really? We used December 2024 (only once) and I know we stayed on past the normal exit point but I thought we were let out before the load area. I could obviously be wrong about that. And the location of where the elevator is that would make sense for it to be just after the load area.

Yup - used it a lot of times with my mom in a wheelchair! Get off at the same spot you got on and then went down a hall away from the load area to the elevator. Drops you out by the train station.

You might just suggest ear plugs. My younger daughter was very sensitive to loud noises when she was younger. I ended up buying her ear plugs that were attached to a head band because normal ear plugs didn't work on her little ears. Amazon Link
