Tell me more about the haunted hayrides at Fort Wilderness, or is this just a rumor? I'd be very interested in doing this if it were available. Thanks.
The Haunted Hayride is not a rumor They do it every year at Fort Wilderness. I can't seem to find any information on it this year, but I am still looking. I know that you have to make reservations in advance (they take walk-ups if there is room). I personally have never done the "Haunted" one (I have been on the regular Hayride) but my roommate goes every year. I will keep looking and see if I can find dates, times, prices. In the mean time you might want to try calling
407-824-2734 and asking them (they are the ones that book the carriage rides and the group wagon rides...they might know).
Saw this on another post here see below. Also, just called this number and they confirmed that the haunted hayride does not pre register. You must go to outpost kennel and purchase tickets that day for the hayride that night.
We did this two years ago as an alternative when we showed up for MNSSHP and it was sold out. We did not pre-register, we just showed up at Fort Wilderness and they had room. It was $8 for the adults and $4 for the kids. It may have been free for kids under two. Without giving away what happens, I think it would be fine for kids 5 to 9 that don't scare too easily. My daughter, who was three at the time got scared but she is very sensitive.
