Hi,

Noticed this in the example Navigators for aged 3-4. It's usually on during Key West day. Does anyone know if this is a character meet and greet with Peter Pan cause my son would love this. We were going to take him to the Pirate Museum in Key West but if it's a meet and greet we would let him do that first and hopefully have enough time left over to do the Pirate Museum.

Thanks,

Katherine

I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about, but when we were on the magic there was session our DD 4 attended where they made a Peter Pan hat out of construction paper. This was in the Oceaneers Club and then following that Peter Pan told the kids a story.

I hope that is it.

Just a quick note - the character "meets" in the club are not opportunities for autographs and photos. The kids get to spend a little time and visit with the characters, but there isn't time for autographs for everyone and they don't seem to do any photos in the club (I'm surprised Disney doesn't see this as a money maker - take pictures at the club and sell to parents at Shutters!)

My son seemed to enjoy the character meets (except Capt Hook!) in the club - I just don't want you to think that it is similar to the other meets & greets on board (i.e. Atrium) where you can get autographs or photos.

No, I didn't think it would be. We've never done the autograph thing, although I'm tempted to leave some pillowcases for signing at Guest Relations as some people have suggested. You're right about the potential of a money maker with the photos - I know I'd be suckered into buying pics:) I'd love to see DS's reaction when coming face to face with Peter Pan.

Just an FYI. Peter Pan does not attend this program. It is a Peter Pan themed program with no character appearence. I was a councilor on the Magic and Wonder for 3 years and presented this program several times.
As for a photo op. Parents are more then welcome to take candid shots of their children during the program but the interaction is not used as a autograph and arranged photo op. This is to allow children to interact more with the characters that do appear on social level. This is the one great thing that seperates the ships from the parks. The children get a greater level of interaction with the character on the ships.

When we were on the Magic in January, Peter Pan did visit. It might not have been exactly during the Hats Off to Peter Pan part. She was in the club for appoximately 2 hrs and it was during that time she mad the Peter Pan hat and when I was picking up my DD 4 and he was there telling a story. Needless to say, she wouldn't leave until he was done.

I was going to say that parents are always welcome to go to the club & take pictures during the activities. I made sure that I stayed out of the way & used the zoom to get some great candid shots. They wont stop the activity but at the end they always seem to take a group shot with the character who has come to the club. If you are ready, you can get one too. :) The counselors were very nice about it & always made us feel welcome, not like we were an intrusion at all.

It is going to be very nice to have someone in the know on the board, donaldfan. :) Alot of us have experience with the club but it will be nice to get the official word on some things.

One of the things that I really enjoyed on the ship was watching the children interact with the characters on a more personal level. One of the most magical moments was when Stitch came in un announced and sat with the children while they watched some cartoon shorts. The children accepted him as one of them and did not crowd or surround him but slid a little closer and sat quietly. When the cartoons were over Stitch engaged the children as they went on with their activities. It was great to see that the children were able to treat him as a friend and not just a "character". They parents in the room at that time, unfortunately there were few, expressed that the pictures they got then were the best of the whole cruise.
Any help I can give I will.

You would probably be very helpful in the cruise chat on Friday nights at 9. There are usually club questions. :)

FYI - On the Wonder Feb 13-17 Peter Pan was present at the "Til we Meet Again" celebration on the last night - and there was no line up at all. He was on the 4th floor, off to the side, so you might want to ask a CM if PP is around.

PS - We were never into the signatures and character meets either until we decided on a whim to take DS into the Character greeting tent at Toontown MK to see Tigger. It was one of the highlights of our trip!! It is so amazing to see you child walk up to a character and give them a big hus - smiles are ear to ear all around. The pic we got of DS with Pooh and Piglet is priceless and we got an .mpg or him 'hopping' with Tigger which makes me smile every time I watch it.

I wouldn't line up for 1/2 hour for a character my child couldn't care less about, but if there are a few special characters, I would highly recommend it. :wizard:

I am wondering if the person who is Ensign Benson in the opening night show on the Magic also helps Anne Marie in Dreams. The Ensign was with AM at the Til we meet again thing in the atrium & seeing them together, I thought that I saw a resemblance. Maybe he just alternates the character for the event Friday night?

I think that it is the third thread from the top of this forum...Friday night is chat night. The link is in the first post & you just log in on the next screen.

we just got back yesterday from the wonder and peter pan was AWESOME...he did a autograph session (i think) and we also saw him at the dreams show and at the till we meet again...he was very nice...
