I have posted my lengthy thoughts and comments on it in another thread. But I will try to summerize it and explain last nights experience. It is a misconception to think or call it VMK Fastpass. The correct title as named by VMK is VMK Pass. I call it the VMK Slow pass, it is more accurate. Saturday will be the true test I expect the line for Hula's Rummage Sale to spike over 1,000 people in Queue. I have never got into this event so if I make it in they have achieved one of the major objectives, giving a more even chance of getting in line. Also it allows enjoyment of the game while you wait. The other objective was to reduce Mules. I have to say I am still on the fence on this. I have had mixed experiences and feelings on it. Last night for example My wife got in line at 86 I got in at 146 or something. It was a 30 minute wait at 86 and about and Hour at 146. First try I sat in queue and did not get the pass. Both of us lost. I re-entered the line at 600+ for both of us and it was almost 2 hours to wait from there. This time we took the pass. She got in again and lost again. I decided to play some mansion games and...low and behold, with 35 to go I crashed out of VMK - a perfect waste of time.
600 is a long line
, so winning in a chance game or skill game the odds just went way down. However for the sake of agument lets say I lined up a few mules as well,
I would be able to still get the normal number of tries, otherwise opportunity has been reduced. I do think families with multiple members playing have been effectively screwed here at the expense trying to improve the system.
I think the major effect is we will have to know do we want to bother with certain event types based on odd. This line is not bad for teleporter search prize events and it has its possitives, but I am unsure if I want to wait 600 people to get in to spin the generator or a race I may or may not be good at. If I join a line I have to also decide do I want to risk playing a game, I have no problem watching my number for a game but the crash is ugly and makes bad things come out in front of the computer.
There will definatly be events I will not attend or plan on attending, I may get in line but just go on about my business and hope for the best. The events are now come early or don't come at all I guess.
I make the following suggestions to improve it. Add a warning beep or sound to indicate eminant entry would be greatly helpful. Giving specifics on the type of game/event it will be (to some extent this is done time included
) Lastly either Give use a color indication (a red number) or warning when it appears we will not get in the room by close, then just dump the line at close and say sorry this room or event has closed. these few things would at least make the system more user friendly. That said see you all behind me at the Yard sale Saturday.
