Trying to accomplish my Christmas shopping well in advance. My 8 year old son has been begging for a real dog, but it's not going to happen. I just ran across the Hasbro Biscuit Dog that will be released in September. The You Tube video of the dog is amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKSgU2cLUvg Has anyone else heard of this? Do you think this is something an 8 year old would enjoy?

I'm starting my Xmas shopping too. I love to get it all done early.

I'm leery of the furreal toys. We bought DD (now 7) two of them, a panda and a baby pug and ended up giving them away. They were very hard and mechanical feeling under the fur so she couldn't cuddle them. Furby went for the same reason. And last xmas she asked Santa for that $300 Butterscotch pony :lmao: Lucky for us Santa couldn't fit it in his sleigh.

Thank you for some insight. We have never had any of the toys, although we did have a Furby that was never very popular in our household.

Yeah my daughter hates her furreal cat. She is 10 and still afraid of it.
And I wanted to add that as a child that yearned for a dog my whole childhood a stuffed one just made the pain more real. If you can't do a real dog- then just stay away from dog stuff for the holidays. It's just a reminder of what you don't have.

(Oh and as an adult I have 2 dogs and am tempted to get another- )

I'm a dog lover and we have two little dogs, for a while my son wanted a cat so so bad, just going to Petco and seeing the ones for adoption in the cages made him want to cry and it was very hard not to give in. I did get him a little furreal cat but he did not care for it. We did talked a lot about why we could not get a real cat and he understood, I suggest you do the same.
