I assume so...
Our local health department had a clinic today where they were giving the H1N1 to pregnant ladies and children, first come first serve.
They have been a couple of flu chaos clinics around here in the suburbs of D.C. All I can say is if you plan to have the shot is to get there early! The news has everyone so freaked out people were lined up hours and hours and hours before the clinic even opened. It looked like the lines for walmart on Black Friday.
I watched CNN and saw the lines of people in Maryland tring to get their H1N1 vaccinations at their local health department and they ran out sending 100s of people home to wait for their next batch.
I'm frustrated that we haven't even received our 1st shipment of vaccinations as of yet.
It's crazy. I don't even worry about it anymore because I know the odds of me finding one are slim to none. I definitely fit their category of people that need it, too... 22, primary caregiver to someone under 6 months. I also have to spend a few hours a week at a local elementary school observing for my degree.
I've been frustrated because I can't find a seasonal flu shot for myself. My DH is a federal employee and he got the seasonal and will get the H1N1 through work but I can't find anything for myself. Lucas is too little to get one so his pediatrician told me I NEEDED to get one but I can't find anywhere that has them.
I've spent a few days frustrated to death because of it but now I've given up and just hope we get through OK.![]()
Piecey, please don't give up looking for your shots. Have you tried your local Walgreens or CVS for the seasonal flu shot?
I bought my seasonal flu shot and pnuemonia shot at Walgreens about a month ago.
Our walgreens said they would vacinate DD17 with a parent present for consent. DH took her up there and they wouldn't do it for anybody under 18. Apparently they gave me the wrong info on the phone. DH did get his shot though. This was for the regular vaccine though, not the H1N1. they're going to give all the highschool and middle school students in our county the h1n1 at school for free. Yay! Finally ended up getting DD17 her vaccine from the peds office.I called every CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid/Grocery Story/Local pharmacy within a 45mile radius.
Nothing.![]()

Point of my post: I don't believe that Walgreens will do anybody under 18 even if they say they will on the phone, because they wouldn't for us. This was in FL
