We are going in Nov. and arriving the day before Thanksgiving. Our dining reservations have all been made:thumbsup2 but a few of them said that our party of 8 may not be sat together.

Have you ever had that issue? We are a party of 8-5 adults and 3 kids. I don't mind sitting at 2 tables next to each other, but I would like us to be close. The following are the reservations we have:

Wed
Biergarten-14 people-I think we will just get one long table and we are okay with that

Thur-party of 8
Captain's Grill Buffet 3:45

Fri-party of 8
Boma 5:30

Sat-no TS

Sun-party of 8
'Ohana 6:40

Mon-2 parties of 4 ( we each had to make seperate reservations) We both have a reservation for 4 at 12:15 and hoping to get them linked

Has being sat apart been a problem for you? TIA

A couple of years ago, we went to WDW with a party of 8. We had made several reservations and were sat together for all of them, except for one of them -- at the Plaza Restaraunt in MK. We sat 4 and 4 (as soon as you walk in the door, we had one talbe to the right of the door and one table to the left of the door. It wasn't too far away, but we were hoping for one of the long tables, but didn't get it. It wasn't that big of a deal.
The other restaurants were Grand Floridian Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, LeCellier, Crystal Palace, Kona Cafe and I'm forgetting one other. It worked out well for us!

Our party 2 yrs ago was 5 adults and 3 kids, we was seperated on a few occasions, 1 of them Coral reef, 3 tables apart and still expected to pay the over 6 in a party atomatic tip!!!
Most of the others was on 2 tables nr each other, at Cap N jaks we was split on 2 two tables of 4 but with only 1 table inbetween why was we was split
in the 1st place when they have bigger tables ill never know and we made our r months in advance :confused3

We ate at Crystal Palace, 50's Prime Time, Boma, Chef Mickey's and Via Napoli for a party of 10 and we were not seperated.. we had a 4 & 6 for Whispering Canyon and they combined us...

I haven't seen a table for more than 8 at Beirgarten (but I haven't been there with a large group) so you might be split up 7 and 7 or 6/8 with a party of 2 with your table of 6

Thank you all-I know it will be crowded and bust Thanksgiving week so we are hoping to be altogether but will understand if it does not happen all the time. I could not remember how big the tables were in Biergarten so thank you for the heads up about table size b/c in my mind I was thinking of the REAL Oktoberfest tables, LOL.

we took a group of 7 adults on a 10 day trip a few years ago, and we had no problems sitting at the same tables. Just make sure to note it when you check in, and they'll do their best to seat you together :)

We often go with a group of up to 15 and while we aren't always seated at the same table (that would be near impossible), we are always in the vicinity of each other. Granted, it's not always conducive to conversation, but we've never been on opposite sides of restaurants.

For what it's worth (since you'll be eating there), in the past at 'Ohana we were seated at one large table and at Boma we were seated at back-to-back tables.

I agree, I believe the vast majority of the tables at Biergarten are for 8. You will most likely not be seated (not sat :)) together here.
Have Fun

As a party of 8 we were split up for breakfast in the castle. We were just across the aisle from each other, so it wasn't too bad.

That meal will always stick with me. We had just started to eat, and my sister shoved her video camera at me, and told me to recored everything. So I paid an arm and a leg for a meal I didn't get to eat.:upsidedow But it was all good.

we have a party of 7 this year, 5 adults and 2 children. I am really hoping they don't try to split us up anywhere as it would mean splitting the two little ones up or one not sitting with their mum and dad which would just not work out, we would have children trying to wander around the restaurant to either go see each other or to go see their mum and dad!
I think I will say EVERYWHERE we go that we don't mind waiting a little longer for a table all together. Our group just isn't that "divisable."

Hi - we always travel in a big party (sometimes up to 12 people). While making reservations, there have been times when we have had to book separate tables. Once we have gotten to our dining destination they will either find a way to get us all at one table or seat us all at tables next to each other. We have never had an experience when we have had to sit far away from each other. My hat is off to these folks who do the seating planning. We have always been pleased! :)

We went as a party of 17 and were seated together at Ohana and Boma. The only time we were split into two groups was at 50's Prime Time but the tables were next to each other.

We are a party of 13-14 and making ADR's this Thanksgiving wk has been a royal pain...
I did get Kozzunia's and Boma's...for this group but forget anything else .
They will not do more than 8 because its a holiday wk and they dont want to disappoint people...(according to a TA friend of mine)
Okay we dont have to sit together or even by each other we would just like to all go at the same place at the same time......
Maybe we need to take our reservations off site or just cook in the DVC villa...I have made 4 different phone calls to dining and been on line many days checking...
Really wanted Citrico's and Yachtsman but no way...or Flying Fish...
Did get Teppan Edo...i know we will be split up...
Its all a test!!!!!!!

Did you get the standard "Your party may be seated at more than one table" warning when you made your ADRs? If so, be aware that being split up is possible, though the odds of it happening are small. It may not be as simple as just waiting a bit for a table to hold all of you. It may be that one won't be available.

I am a bit confused though. If there are 7 of you, including the 2 parents and the 2 children, then way couldn't the 3 other people sit at their own table?:confused3

a few of our meals will be 14 people. We had luck getting reservations both at Biergarten, 'Ohanas, and I think the Captain Cook (in the Yacht club?) for Thanksgiving. Apparently for Thanksgiving they do a big buffet that ncludes seafood as well as traditional Thanksgiving food similar to Cape May. You may want to try those places as well. Good luck!
