Has your child mispronounced something that you found really funny?

One of my nieces used to have a few:

Garage was piage
Vanilla was pee-ella
Sweaty was something that I can type here on the DIS ;)

Another niece always wanted to go to Dick Donalds.

My cousin's two year old says fork like another four letter F word.

When DD was small, and we would be out in the car, and the aroma of a skunk would get into the car, she would hollar "Stunk, Stunk"...........well it does!!

When we go to Disney World we have to ride the "momma-rail" (monorail) because that's what my then-toddler kids called it. We all still call it that & my kids are 14 & 16 yrs old. :p

DS was another one who called the dwarfs, dorfs. He also called Horsies, Hoopies. I still call them that. ;)

DD(now11) used to call a bathing suit a "Babe-*** Suit". I'm really glad she grew out of that one before she became a teenager!

DS(now9) used to like eating at Bugaboo Creek, although he would call it Bubagoo Creep!

We've had some others...

moaics - moe-zee-acs
caterpillar - cap-a-tiller
cupcakes - cupcapes

Ahhhhh...good memories.

My middle DD used to say 'poison snoke' for 'poison oak'. She also used to mispronounce 'dwarfs' and it sounded just like '*****s'. She used to crack people up a few years ago when she'd tell everyone she wanted 'Snow White and the Seven *****s' for Christmas. And this isn't really mispronouncing words but it was really funny: one day we were driving past the cemetary and she said 'look Mommy, that's where all the dead people live!' :teeth:

My oldest DD used to say 'lasterday' instead of 'yesterday'. When you think about it, it makes perfect sense!

DD had the same as mzdznyduck....STUNK for skunk...a better name I think! Also the first beach she was ever on was Sanibel Island in Florida and she kept calling it SANDYbell..again, I like that better.
There's the usual "bisketti" cimanon and this wasn't an accidental misprononciation...the kids tease me that I buy frozen
"cheap-za" instead of ordering out the good stuff.:p

KIDS! Gotta love em :)

When DS#2 was 3 years old, he would call McDonalds, lickDonalds! :teeth: :teeth: To this day, we say "Do you kids want to go to "lickDonalds"? :teeth: :teeth: Same DS would call spaguetti, sagueppy. We still think it's funny!

When DS#1 was 2 years old, he would call Yoplait Trix yogurt, "Bun-Yuck". :teeth: :teeth: You know, the bunny/rabbit on the container plus "yuck" for yogurt. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

DD used to say "craps" for crafts.

Gotta love kids!:teeth: :teeth:

Icky Moose for Mickey Mouse

down-side-up for upside-down

Chunky Cheese for Chuckie Cheese

Eee-0h for Eeyore

Boo-Winkle for Bullwinkle

pasketti for spaghetti

Mall-Wart for Wal-Mart

fimmin suit for swimming suit

You-can-fly for Peter Pan (really just a creative name for him)

My now 6 year old used to call popcorn, "cop-porn." We thought it was hilarious.

My dd was five when she told me the January day off from school was Martha Stewart King Jr day.

Vivienne

My friend's little girl was mad about our guinea pig called Buster.
She arrived around one day and shouted at the top of her voice for him "where's the little Buster" - except she changed the u to an a, and added a d at the end of his name. Her parents were SO embarrassed!
Buster didn't mind though ;)

When my DD was really little she used to say No way, Gozay (instead of Jose). I still mimic her when the opportunity presents itself.

And my DS used to say Bagenda (for agenda). On a car trip we were going to stop at the Allen Edmunds outlet to get DH some dress shoes. DS needed to go the the bathroom. We said we would be stopping at a shoe store soon. He pitched a fit..."No, going to a shoe store and going to the bathroom is NOT on my bagenda...going to a gas station and going to the bathroom is on my bagenda!" The little bugger wanted to buy some treats too. We went to the shoe store...he was fine.

DD 4 calls her fingers - feemers, I know she's going to start pronouncing it correctly soon and I'm going to miss it soooo... much. I love painting her "feemer nails":)

She also went through a period where she couldn't say biscuit, I can't put here what she actually said, all I can say is the first syllable she pronounced as "big", the 2nd syllable was not a nice word, that is often used for a male body part. big____ - oh my!

And she also used to call McDonald's - Donald Ducks.

Last year when DS was in kindergarten and had strep throat, he told his teacher - he "had a stroke".

I used to not be able to say the sound "tr" so instead when i saw a truck i replaced "tr" with "f". hehe imagine me shouting that out the car window.

Ironically enough the F word is now one of my fav words :)

I guess the little things my stepsons used to say aren't as cute as I've seen here...
They called ambulances "woo-woos," and popcorn was packorn.

(Norah - I'm shocked! hehe)
