Has the DAS wait return times changed from 10-30?

Hi I belong to a few pages,
And recently ( last few months) alot of people have been able to walk straight onto rides if the wait time is under 30 mins, they have all said that it is no longer 10 minutes but they are let on the ride and only get a return time if it's over 30 mins.

Obviously I want to know for our trip in 2wks, and wondering why they would have made this change.

OMG I hope not! DS could not stand in the queue for 30 minutes. That would be torturing him!
Obviously waiting 30 minutes or more AWAY from the queue area is not a problem, but...
This would mean that we would have to WAIT until the time was longer than that AND THEN wait the standby time from when we can get a return time. That seems unfair?

I'm not sure I'm understanding, bear with me. Do you mean that if the wait time is 10-30 minutes they are routing DAS users to standby or to FP?

No what I meant was that they was letting people walk straight on if the ride time was under 30 mins,
I believe I've found out my answer, and that it's still 10 mins.

Many people lately have been saying they are walking on through the Fp line if the ride time is under 30 mins.

oh, I see, I misunderstood, thanks for clarifying

Yes, this is exactly what they are saying.
I know it's 10 mins, but they are all saying that they walked straight on any ride under 30 through the Fp line.

I have not heard this ( I think there is a another ) park in the orlando area that if some of the less popular rides are under 30 minutes then you go though the exit and wait a few minutes and then got on the ride, I have had a few CM let me right on a ride when the wait was 30 or so minutes but they have all said something like well if you are ready now, I can do some magic and let you on. ( they have always let me know even thought I know that this is not normal)

but as fair as I know it is still just under 10 minutes

The answer is no. It has not changed.

The official policy and what we have seen is:
- if the posted Standby wait is 10 minutes or less, guests are directed to go into the line (could be Standby line or Fastpass line)

- if the posted Standby wait is more than 10 minutes, the guest can get a DAS Return Time

It's possible that a CM could give immediate access into the Fastpass line. Reasons might include:
- knowing the posted wait time is greater than the actual wait time
(most people don't realize, but the signs at the entrance to the queue say, "wait from this point" . If the line is actually further into the building than that, the wait might not actually be that long.

- pixie dust
- other considerations, like number of people waiting in a special boarding area.

So, it's possible you might wait shorter, you probably won't.

I didn't think it had,
Although i have to say the page I belong to is a very large one, and people are reporting this more and more.
This is pretty unfair if they are not treating all DAS users the same.
I've probably had at least 20 people report it worked this way for them over the last few months.
Some when they have collected their DAS from guest services have been told that they will access through the Fp line as without a return time on any ride under 30 minutes.
We go to Disney for 3wks every year since since way before it rolled out, and was surprised to be hearing this so much lately.

Yes it's universal that allows people to go straight through on all rides as long as the wait times is under 30 mins.
I'm surprised at the pixie dust since its electronic now.
We had this happen many times when it was the paper DAS,

If the FP entrance and where you get your return time are next to each other, it is super easy for the CMs to pixie dust. All they have to do is have you scan your band and they can hit a button that bypasses the system. I would say, it used to be more problematic when you had to scan twice in the FP line. But now they have pretty much shut down all the second scanners (most were where the FP and stand by lines merges) with a few exceptions. I have been let in the FP line numerous times when the wait was less than 30 minutes. 7DMT does it pretty much every time for me. I've also experienced it at BLSRS, MLFC, PP, HM, PotC, Splash Mtn, TSMM, IASW and I'm sure others.
I think the key is don't expect it. But in my experience, it does happen. CMs are given a good bit of leeway in admitting guests through the FP line if they feel it is warranted. They allow the CMs to use the brain God gave them realizing that Hard and Fast rules aren't always the best answer. Just my experience and based on info from Relatives who are CMs and work at Attractions.

they normally do this at space they ask me how many and most ( if not all since my friend I go with can not do space) they tell me to tap my MB ( most of the time it turns blue I tap it again and it turns green) and they let me on then at the next one I just tap it like normal and it turns green. I really can not remember any others they let me right on ( one time I think the wait was 90 minutes talk about a very nice surprised) I have all so be able to do this a BTMRR ( I have to use the exit and once I leave the are I am dune in that area for the day so I try to get a DAS time and FP time back to back to loop it and some times after my second time the CM will ask if I want to go another time ( I can some times go 3 times this is only if where you get on and off are the same side) but for the most part you wait your turn I would never expect to receive any pix dust on any trip ( and I have gone and not received any and still had great time.)
