The whole show goes too far. At first, I was intrigued by it. I do firmly believe that the vast majority of overweight people can lose weight by lifestyle choices (what you eat and exercise), but the type of weight loss propagated by this show is simply not sustainable. If you have any kind of life, you can't work out all day, every day.
And, I think this year's "winner" looks dangerously thin. A BMI of 18 is not healthy for MOST women (some, sure, but promoting that for most of us is not a good idea). We are supposed to carry some fat. This is what gives us what we need to ovulate and carry babies. It's good for the species. Being stick thin is not.
Anyone want to lay odds on whether she still has her period?
Having been around many anorexics, she is well on her way if not there. An exercise compulsion combined with a diet is a deadly combination.
I think this show is adding to the increasing problem we have in this country with eating disorders. You can't make someone an anorexic, however, someone with the predisposition to this horrible disease can definitely be triggered by this kind of crap.
Horrible.
(BTW, I'm guessing that if anything Jillian has a relatively high BMI....she's a lot of muscle).
