Has TGM ever not worked for you?

We used his best days and it worked like a charm. It was the slow season but even then there were lines at times for things like Peter Pan that were over 40 minutes. Of course we weren't in that line because we were zigging while they were zagging.

Just curious what "secrets" does this TGM know that the rest of we disney obsessesd fans like me who have been going to Disney theme parks for 40 plus years know. Just ask me for some tips and I will tell you for free!!

Honestly, length of time going to a place doesn't mean you know more than others. I'm sure you know plenty but I have some friends who have went over 20 times and they don't have a clue about the best way to avoid crowds and such.

I think he gives people approaches and reasonings why.

Mike was a ride CM and an official VIP Tour Guide for WDW. Now he has his own VIP tour company, and is in the parks all the time.

It is true you can find much of the TGM info elsewhere. But TGM has it well organized IMO and has some tips you do not find elsewhere.

if you can read some of the posts here amidst all the cluttered and seizure inducing smilies in the sigs, you will be able to navigate his site. :rotfl2: Seriously, some people have the most ridiculous amount of stuff in their sigs. haha

Well -- signed up days ago and might need therapy before long. Still can't find out how to do an itinerary and have waded through all the text trying to get some answers. What a nightmare!

Anybody out there with any assistance for this Texas gal? I would love to get my itinerary before my May trip. Thanks! Just PM me since we are not allowed to devulge any secrets. :thumbsup2

I have been zigging when "they" zag for years... :lmao:

I haven't used TGM, but $20 is a fair price for "secrets". :grouphug:

Here are my "secrets"

* go left
* go early
* rest often
* go late
* fast pass

This is asked in the sincerest way possible - I have gotten my $20 worth if I never set foot in the park. I have enjoyed the website and all of the info that comes with it. However, I have COMPLETELY based my March 25-31 trip on his recommendations and I hear nothing but good things from satisfied customers - are there any failures out there? I am not asking for TGM bashers - just sincere results. We've never been during a busy season and I am placing my faith in his methods!

We have only been in busy season (summer). The difference between w/ Tgm vs. w/out TGM is night and day. We wouldn't think of going (even in slower seasons) w/out his advice due to the success we've had w/ his advice during the crowded, hot summertime. JMHO.

I agree, it can seem a bit much at times. I go for periods without viewing the sigs -- you can do this if you click the correct box on the user CP. Then after a while I want to see them again, LOL!

I used TGM. Back in June of 03? I believe. He was brand new. Not everything on his site was functioning so I did not get as much out of it as I would have liked. The only tips I remember were to watch the fireworks behind the castle somewhere. I never could figure out the exact location. And to hop on the train and do Splash Mt. after doing Space Mt. and Buzz immediately after opening. I did not do either. I dont' think that I utilized any of his information. That was not his fault I just opted for other choices.

TGM worked for us this past September and I signed up for our next trip.....in only 10 days! :cool1:

his site is awfully "busy" though.....and really not that easy to manuver....

You said it, sister! If I see something interesting on TGM, I print it out just in case I can't find it again. I think some of the advice will help, though. And at least I have lots more fun reading material (who needs novels?).

Ag, they have a forum there and questions like this would be more likely to get good responses over there.

TGM does have some sample itineraries, but that is not his strength. You should be able to find these by going to your AVP page and looking around. You can also search for "itinerary".

There is a lot of info. I signed up about a month ago and I felt the site was very organized and, for the most part, easy to find what I wanted. But I admit there are times I have trouble refinding something I found earlier. I try to use the feature to "add to my vacation articles". This keeps track of everything you add, and makes it easier to refind things.

I'm with you. I signed up a couple of days ago and yeah, the instant you sign up it can be a little overwhelming but if you follow his advice and look at everything INCLUDING the AVP Overview it's pretty easy to understand. I have about 3 months to surf his site before he has the plans available for my month (Dec). I'm keeping busy just reading all the articles and tips pages! Wow!

TGM worked like a dream for me during a spring break trip and August trip. :thumbsup2 .

We took dd when she was 2, and swore we would not go back to Disney (although I loved Disney as a child). We went over halloween and had an awful time. It was so crowded and I was unprepared, even though I had used the UG. (now, that would have been about 9 years ago, and I know the book has changed a lot since then, so you need to take that with a grain of salt).

Fast forward seven years later, and DH says, the kids are old enough, lets do the big Disney trip and get it over with. We went during spring break using TGM, had had such a fantastic time, we have been returning every year since. DH loves disney almost as much as me now!

I am signed up again for my upcoming August trip!!

Well, nicolemarie, it doesn't look like you're gonna find anyone that hasn't had a good experience with TGM. I thought there would be something out of all of these pages but it looks like it's going to be $$ well spent. Personally, I think I'm gonna go with TGM's advice rather than the UG as TGM is more up-to-date. I can't offer up much advice as I just became a member and Mike hasn't come out with my month's Express Planner (Dec) BUT everything I've seen so far seems pretty logical....not that I would have thought of it myself, no way. I hope your tours of the parks are a success! Maybe you should update us when you get back?
:wave:

I will most definitely update everyone when I return - I am counting on success! Either way, I have had ALMOST as much fun planning as we will actually going!

I used TGM last May during Star Wars weekends. It was wonderful! Followed his advice, even during the craziness of Star Wars, and we had a ball. My grandson, 3 at the time, loved the Star Wars characters and we were able to do all the rides in all the parks that we wanted following Mike's advice. I re-signed for my Dec., 2007 trip already but decided to go this Dec. also!! And I just found out I'll be attending a computer user's group for the insurance industry in August in Orlando, so you know where I'll be in the evenings!! And Mike is going with me!!
