Has SW Luggage Check-in Inside Car Rental Garage Returned?

Pre-Covid, we were able to check our luggage with SW inside the garage where we returned our car, prior to making the long trek across to the TSA check-in. Essentially, curbside check-in , but inside the garage instead. Has this restarted post-Covid?

It wasn’t there when we dropped our car off on 6/16. This was our first trip renting a car in years so maybe we missed it.

Thanks. We arrive 7/5. I’ll try to check as we head into the garage to pick up the car, but I won’t take a chance when we return the car unless I have a definite idea that I can do this. I’ll probably drive through the departure level to drop off DW and our luggage curbside, than circle back around to return the car and then meet DW in the terminal. Just need to plan for the extra time.

It hadn’t been there all that long pre-Covid, perhaps the last 18 months or 2 years. There’s a somewhat similar arrangement at TPA, with multiple airlines, so you can check luggage prior to boarding the light rail train from the relatively new car rental center to the terminal. Makes the trip from garage to terminal much more convenient if you don’t have to manage luggage.

I would doubt this is available considering staff shortages that all of the airlines are facing. Best to arrive early and be prepared for long lines at the counters.

Reports are that SW curbside check-in has been operating at MCO at least since late April, so that option remains.
