Has Spidey Really Been Tamed Down?

I read on another board that the Spiderman ride has been tamed down. Not as much reaction to the different simulations. I understand the Scoops were breaking down to frequently because of the harsh movements during the ride. This prompted IOA to minimize the jerky movements by the Scoops. If the Spidey ride has been tamed down, how much has it been tamed down? Is it very noticeable?
I am leaving on the 28th for IOA and was wondering what to expect. Spidey is my favorite. The last time I rode it was in May of 2000. Has the ride been tamed down since then.
By the way, thanks for all the great, useful information on this board. What a great source of info before leaving on a trip.
Just Wondering about Spidey.
ADP

I haven't noticed any taming down.

if they did tame down- wouldn't they have to change the film too-costing LOTS of money and time??

Ummm...technically...I guess you COULD say that the current profile that the Scoop vehicles use throughout the ride were tamed down very soon after the park was opened. This was, as stated, due to the excessive wear and tear on the original vehicles.

This "tamed down" profile is still in use on most all Spiderman ride vehicles.

HOWEVER, don't forget that almost the entire Spiderman attraction (ride vehicles and ride control systems) have been rebuilt from the ground up since opening. In fact, all Spiderman ride vehicles are now practically brand new compared to what was first running at the attraction. Obviously, this has greatly contributed to how little downtime the ride now experiences.

Due to the new ride vehicle design, there is a new profile that is just about finished being developed that is actually WILDER than any other previous profiles. In fact, one of the ride vehicles is currently cycling (most days) to make sure it holds up. Of course, we won't disclose the vehicle number, but it is a MUCH BETTER and WILDER ride than any other vehicle in the past!

It was as good as I remembered it. Rode it 6 times, and every time was great!!! Spidey RULES!!!

give us a hint!!!  <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz">

That car number is not going to be given out. But don't panic, the schedule has all of the cars converted by the beginning of summer. At least that's the plan.

So Earl or CoasterFEV...is the new program a big change from the old , tamed down version... will it be noticeable or will you really need to pay attention to notice the difference??

I noticed that n the scene where Doc Ock shoots at you, some Scoops will really whip around while others spin around and stop at a certain point.

I spent a few hours at IOA a few days ago after not having been for about a month - and of course I had to do Spidey.

As we pulled up to the point where they lower the right side before the ride starts, the guy checking the door said "oh, you all have the best car". I thought he was just joking around but someone I was with asked what he meant and he said this particular car was different and if we rode the ride again we would know what he meant.

Well, having been on Spidey about a month or so ago I could tell exactly what he meant - the best way to describe it is they "turned the ride up a notch".

The movements seemed a lot more dramatatic (for example when spidey leaps onto and off of your vehicle in the first scene) and there were some extras - like when doc octopus breaks through the wall it feels as if the car is stuck and begins to shake - you are held in place for about a minute and a half while he "shoots fire at you" and you can really feel the intensiity of the heat. The part where you spin around seemed alot "faster" and "more violent".

I must say I really enjoyed it - having riden it many times before it was just enough of a change to make it new all over again.
