I thought years ago it was named something else, but maybe I am wrong. Does anyone out there remember if it was something else? Also, Chef Mickey's used to be at DTD, correct? Maybe just as a TS not as a character meal?

Fulton's used to be the Empress Lily riverboat, which had three restaurants
onboard:

Fisherman's Deck (which by the name, you can imagine they served seafood)
Steerman's Quarters: dinner-only steakhouse
Empress Room: also dinner-only. Was the Victoria and Albert's of its day.

And yes, Chef Mickey's used to be in Downtown Disney. Rainforest Cafe is
in its location today.

BriarRosie has it right. And a bit of trivia, the Empress Lilly was named after Walt's wife.

Back when my DS was 5, he's now 22, the Empress Lily was the ONLY character breakfast place. Had Mickey, Minny and all the gang.

We also had gone to the character breakfast on board the Empress Lily. We had some mugs from there up untill a few years ago.

Well, not the only one but it was one of the few. In 1983, we went to our first at the Seven Seas Dining Room in the Polynesian. Our boys were 3 and 1.

Steerman's Quarters used to be open for lunch too. We miss both that restaurant and Fisherman's Deck. Never made it to the Empress Room as our kids were too young.

OH Thank you so much!!! My parents and I were trying so hard to come up with the name.

Never ate there when it was Empress Lily, but DH, DD and I did eat at Fulton's back in 1996. It was very good then, not sure about now.

I do remember when Chef Mickey's was at DTD, the butter they had on the table was shaped like Mickey himself. I couldn't remember if it was where Capt. Jack's is, or RAinforest Cafe!!

Thanks so much for the info.

[....my older DS Todd, who was almost 6 at the time, just turned 21 on Monday! :faint:]

There also used to be a darling little italian place in DTD - Minnie Mia's! Anyone remember that?

Chef Mickey's in DD was my favorite place for breakfast on our departure day. They had THEE most delicious home fries I have ever eaten. I asked for (and got) the recipe. The secret was that the potatoes weren't boiled first, but baked. They were fried in bacon grease and then the bacon bits were added along with teeny diced onions and green/red peppers. Delicious!
They don't make them like that anywhere on property anymore.
And we also loved the character meals at Empress Lily. My then 8 month old DGD was enthralled by Minnie Mouse. We have seen those pictures so many times they are practically worn out - ahh such sweet, sweet memories.

....I can feel my cholesterol rising as we speak.....:teeth:

I had just asked my mother about that the other day. I knew we had been on a boat for a character breakfast about 15 years ago and couldn't imagine where else it would be. She confirmed it was the Lily. It's neat the little things that you remember from your childhood.
