My passporter says that formal night is on day 6, which is Thursday, and that semi-formal night is on Sunday. I was just told by "hydster" that formal night on her cruise (7 day Eastern) was on Sunday. Why does the passporter say different? It is the new edition so I would think they had the new days if they changed.

Hello: You all keep talking about your cruise passports. What are they and when do we get them. We are travelling on January 15/2005. Thanks for the info:confused:

houzer... Passporters are guide books which are highly regarded on this site. They can be found in many bookstores, at amazon.com and at their own site www.passporter.com ...:sunny:

It is a book.. "PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call" by Jennifer Watson, Dave Marx and Mickey Morgan (2nd edition)

you can buy them on www.passporters.com

I bought the deluxe edition, it has pockets inside the cover for id and other important info while you travel.

The Platinum Castaway Club site (********************** which is not a Disney site) has copies of recent Navigator's. On the April 24, 2004 Western cruise formal night was Monday and semi-formal was Thursday.

On the most recent Eastern Navigator they had (February 21, 2004) it shows formal night on Sunday and semi-formal on Thursday.

It appears that the formal nights are always on at sea days which makes sense because you don't have to rush to get back to the ship for early seating, you can go to the spa or salon, etc.

Hope that helps to clear things up!

That would be cast away club . com with no spaces between it...they block out that site on here now!!
Our formal night was Monday and Semi Formal was Thursday. Though not many wore anything different in our dining room for formal and semi formal. Some guys had suits on, I didn't see any tuxes at the early seating but I saw some at the late. There was a whole family there for formal night in shorts and another family with the husband in shorts and a tank and the wife in jeans and a t shirt. I wore a pair of black slacks and a white shirt. We told our server we wouldn't be there for formal night and he said (and I quote so don't flame me!) "that is only sugested attire, you don't have to wear anything formal" We did not feel the least bit out of place with just slacks and a shirt, fit right in with the others!
