Has Expanding Castaway Cay on the Other Side Ever Been Discussed?

I have read that DCL is looking for a second island location, which leads me to ask why not simply expand CC on the other side of the island? Has anyone ever read why this is not a possibility?

Interesting news! Can you give a link? I'm not sure, why, but I assume it could be due to restrictions, or simply not suitable (beach and infrastructure wise)

I asked about this before and was told that part of their lease states that a large portion of the island is to remain undeveloped.
