We travel this coming Easter and DH is already talking about the possibility of canceling. I think there's nothing to worry about, yet. Those that are local to the area or there now, are you seeing any signs of decreasing crowds where people are canceling plans/staying home?

We are at DW now. Haven’t gone to parks yet but based on crowd at Disney Springs and n restaurants I see no evidence of anyone staying away. DS was so crowded last night it was hard to move in a couple places.

Right now. No. By Easter I feel it definitely will. A lot of people may get stuck with non-refundable flights and rooms, so they will come anyway. But those who can cancel will as things get worse in the US.

Here now and the crowds are tremendous. And I can't imagine them decreasing any time soon.

They were nuts in February too. The crowds are kind of unprecedented too. Some theorized these are folks who pushed back trips to miss SGE opening. Not sure if thats true but the parks were 10/10 the entire week we were there two weeks back.

Type Coronavirus in to the search bar and you will be flooded with them. Mods keep closing or moving them to more appropriate forums which is why you may not see one directly here.

Personally speaking, and sorry if this ruffles feathers, but why do mods keep moving or closing the threads? IMO this is a topic that impacts "theme park attractions and strategies" just as when Florida is in the line of a hurricane, those threads are allowed in this forum?

Agreed. It is something that may possibly impact the park crowds and should be allowed to stay in this forum.

I *think* (but not positive) that the "main" coronavirus thread is the one on the Rumors and News Board - but, quite honestly, the discussion there started about the China parks, now the Asian parks, being closed. And now the discussion is mostly centered around the virus itself, the spread across the world, etc. I, personally, am very interested in following how this will affect WDW, the crowds at Spring Break, etc. as that is when my family, along with the rest of the masses of humanity, are planning on descending upon WDW. And I have already spoken to one family that I know that is seriously considering cancelling their trip. So this is a very specific topic of discussion about WDW park crowds and not just about the virus, in general. Yes, they are clearly related, but I'd love to know more about how this might be impacting people's vacation decisions. DH would like for us to make a decision soon - and I just think it's too early to do that.

I'm not trying to ruffle feathers either, but as someone with a trip planned in the immediate future (May) I am very interested in if/how/when/etc, it could affect WDW. I know nothing is happening now, but discussion with others in the same boat is important to share info.

Agree.

The Asia parks thread is large, and I'm on there frequently trying to find pertinent information, and you do have to sift through a lot. But it is a different animal than a thread with a focus solely directed at WDW, which would be extremely helpful to those of us currently planning a trip in the next few months.

Until the point where Disney makes any theme park changes on account of the virus, the topic is not directly applicable to theme park attractions and strategies. Hurricanes happen with relative frequency and, while storms are unpredictable, there are known fact patterns with how a storm may impact a WDW vacation or park operations. This topic is different - guests should seek professional resources in determining their personal travel choices.
