Has Buzz re-opened? What's different?

Howdy! Anyone there or just back who can tell us if Buzz has re-opened, and what (if any!) changes were made? There were rumors that the laser guns would be changed out so that they could be picked up and used with greater range of motion (as, apparently, they operate at DL).... Would love to know the scoop. Thanks!

That would be great. MIB is like that at Universal and its a lot more fun shooting.

I had only heard of painting and general maintinance but would also love to know if the laser guns were updated!!

It IS reopened.

It was a wonderful surprise to find out on my last day there last week. I believe, it reopened on February 3.

Nothing different I could tell in the least.

We were thrilled to find it opened early! Didin't notice anything new. To us it seemed slower toward the end of the ride. We were there last Sunday night for EMH and it was going and open several times this week. We rode so many times DH figured out where to get more points. :sad2: :woohoo:

Don't forget these tips so you can blow your kids scores away! :rotfl2:

When you pass the robot on your left (the Rock'em Sock'em type Robot), spin your car around and try to hit the Z on the *back* of the robot's left wrist -- that's 100,000 points.

The top of the volcano is worth 100,000 points and it will erupt when you hit it.

In the battery room, try to hit the batteries on the bottom -- they'll fall over when you do, and some are worth 50,000 points. Also aim for the tiny batteries -- the smaller they are, the more points they're worth.

Also, after the robot, on your left there will be some creatures on the wall -- the spider is worth 50,000 points.

If you hit the moving wormlike creature that sways left to right that's on your right in the next room, it's worth at least 50,000 points.

It turns out if you hold the trigger of your laser down, you'll occasionally get 1,000 points even if you don't hit anything. When you're going through the red spiral light room, hold your thumb down for a few extra points.

In the room after that, the one with the animated rockets, follow the spaceships until they pause and aim for the Z on them -- if you look closely, you'll see a metal plate on the wall (there's one on each side) under the animation. Hitting those scores 100,000 points, too.

Well, I'm glad to hear that it is up and running -- it sorely needed a rehab -- but I'm disappointed to learn that they did not update the lasers. It certainly would be a lot more fun if you could pick them up and have more ability to aim. But, it's still a family favorite! Thanks for all the info!

I can assure you they did not update the lasers.
Didn't notice anything new, so it must have just been cleaning and general maintenance.
