Has Beaches & Cream been expanded in the last 2 years?

My family loves the Beach Club, but we really wish they had a food court (grab & go section) or a larger carryout area at Beaches & Cream.

Hi Knute! Unfortunately, I don't recall hearing about any expansions at Beaches n Cream. As popular as that place is, they could definitely use some more room, couldn't they?

There have been "rumors" circulating for the last several years that Disney has considered expanding Beaches & Cream into the space occupied by Ariels. There has never been a confirmation from Disney regarding this rumor.

I stay at the BC often and feel that the refillable mug program at the YC/BC is one of the few negatives about the resort. The only places to get refills are at Beaches & Cream and Hurricane Hannah's (adjacent to Stromalong). The line for B & C is often very long.

Beaches and Cream is still the smallest restaurant with the best hamburgers and sundaes in the World.

Worth the wait, and very pleasant sitting on beach chairs at SAB watching the kids.

If you're looking for a faster-smaller meal...go over to the Yacht Club galley. It closed after September 11th, but I think they reopened it in 2003.

Also on the mug refills. You can also refill at Cape May Cafe and at the small bar next to Cape May.

Don't count on the expansion into Ariel's - they're using that for banquets, weddings, etc. It was busy just about every day during my last trip and we were there in the off season.

Last time we ate there people seemed to come in to the cash register and order and pick up food orders to go.

We had wonderful food there! It is not a huge restaurant! It is an old fashioned ice cream soda shop that serves grill foods and salads! The decor is wonderful and the servers are dressed with typical Disney flair!

We were able to get seats withoutr a wait when we went in early afternoon. That way we missed the lunch crowd.

We will return there to eat on our next trip!

No question that at the busy times of the day, it's much too crowded.
A few years back I happened to speak with the (then) manager. He was under the impression that they would expand into where Ariels' used to be. In fact, he was looking forward to it.
Seems he was wrong---.

It was so packed when we were there in March that the wait was 50 minutes. We decided to just get milkshakes to go and the to go area was so crowded. Once people ordered there was no place to wait until the food was ready. It was a mess! I would love to see them expand and come up with a better system for the to go area.

As of Nov. '03 it had not been expanded. It is still very small and cute with great food. I wish they would consider expanding into the arcade next door. Frankly my ice cream is much more important to me than video games!! Yum!!::yes::

That's a good idea--no rule that it has to be where Ariel's used to be. Not sure how much space it would add(??)-- never been inside the arcade area.
