My son finally brought home a school fundraiser. It's the Zap A Snack food fundraiser. It's frozen pizza and stuff.
The school wants parents only, no friends or other family, to pick up the fundraiser on one Friday evening from 6pm to 7pm. We won't be home that evening because of a prior commitment. That evening from 6pm to 7pm is the one and only time parents can pick up the fundraisers.
We decided to donate money to the PTA instead of having DS2 sell this stuff. Besides, all my 13 nieces and nephews, plus my great-nephew have long since sold items. My poor parents have spent a fortune buying crappy items from their grandkids and great-grandkids. DH says at his work there are at least 6 other pamphlets from other kids in the break room.
Does anyone know how much profit this company gives to the school for each box that is sold? The note sent home says that they expect each child in the entire elementary school to sell 15 boxes of Zap a Snack foods.
I've looked on the Zap A Snack website, but can't find how much profit they give for each item sold. I've tried calling both PTA leaders, but all I get is answering machines and no one calls me back. I've called both ladies 4 times each since Monday.
I don't know how much is a fair donation to give to the PTA.
Any suggestions as to what an appropriate donation amount would be?
