Ever used one or the ICE CHEST that plug into your car lighter, and is suppose to keep things cool/cold with out ice,,you can also plug them in when you get to room? If so..please..what kind would you suggest? How cold does it really keep stuff?

Yes, we use it all the time. They are great! Take it from the Car and plug it into an outlet in the Hotel Room, and we then have our own mini fridge!. I don't know the brand name of ours but it is a smallish one - it fits between the bucket seats in the car.

One word of caution - if you get the kind that you can keep stuff cold, or switch the plug and have stuff keep warm (like we do) make sure when you load it up in the car with drinks etc., that you plug it into the cold plug. It actually gets hot enough to make cans of soda explode! "Honey, what was that popping sound in the back of the car??" Coke Soup!!

My dad has an Igloo one. He's had it for a really long time, because I remember that was one of the things they had to load in the back of that car thing at the Poly-and that was 9 years ago. Still works great. It was really nice to be able to take it into the hotel room-cheaper drinks than what was in the fridge there. We also used to use it for barbecues-since we have the outside outlets. They're pretty handy. Igloo is a great brand.

I have the little 6-pack one from target on my desk at work. If I put a room temp soda in it in the am, it is ice cold at lunch!

I bought one at Target on clearance, but I have never used it, its in my car waiting to be used. It is one of the ones with the hot and cold switch, so thanks for the warning!!!

THANKS you guys,,,,,,ya all always come through...we went to WALMART and got a COLEMAN POWER CHILL...looks like it will be nice,,we were looking for an IGLOO one,, but only could find small ones,,,we will be using this on our "ROAD TRIPS" to deliver cars for people,,so just a way of saving some on drinks and sandwiches and stops on the way.....thanks so much once again
