Has anyone with an AP booked dining plan yet?

Can it only be booked in conjunction with an AP discounted room? What do they ask you for at time of reservation..i.e AP number? Is just the voucher going to work?

I have a room ressie that is not an AP rate but have AP's and would like to book DP.

As far as i know you cannot book the Dining plan with an AP room only reservation. The only way you can get a plan is to book a package and just get a one day ticket as you already have your passes.

I have heard though that it's possibly in the pipeline that AP holders will be able to add the DP to an AP room only reservation without having to buy tickets, much the same as DVC members are now allowed to do so.

As of April 1 the same time as DVC AP holders can book dining as well. That was the original announcement anyways.

Are you sure, I've never heard this. although i wouldn't be surprised now that DVC can book it. I would be really pleased if that were the case.

It was all over these boards when it was first announced. I am going to call and verify when i get to work today.

I'm anxious to find out also. If so I'll buy APs again since they've done away with that awful best rate program.

It was all over the boards that now DVC members can book the dining plan for trips after April 1, but I haven't seen anywhere on this board or elsewhere where an AP holder can book the DDP. I read them all with great interest since I'm a DVC member.

I'd love a link to this info or to another thread??

I have never seen anything about AP holders being able to do the dining plan, I'd be really surprised if they could!

You can get the DDE card, which is what many of us who are Florida Residents have had for years.

It would be great if AP holders could get the dining plan, i don't really see why we could not. By having the AP it shows we have already bought park tickets so in essence it's only the same as having a package anyway. If AAA memebers can get a discount on the their room portion and add the dining plan i just don't see why not. Surely it's got to be a good investment for Disney. If i could get the dining plan I would and would eat all my meals onsite happily, without it though I will no doubt eat 50% of our meals at offsite restaurants.

There is no dining plan for AP holders. You have to buy a package with a 1 day MYW ticket and a room ressie to get the dining plan. DVC members can get the dining plan and it wouldn't surprise me if AP holders were next, but not currently.

I'm not at home and can't search right now but in the middle of December when it was announced that DVC would be able to in the same posts they said the AP would be as well. Anybody interested can search and find the posts that discussed it.

It would appear at this point to not be true however I will be calling to verify. Whether it turns out to be a rumor or not it was indeed talked about.

AAA members don't generally get as deep a discount as AP holders. Plus, that would mean that AP rates could go to WDTC - and I'd like to see that held off as long as possible.

I would love for this to be true. My parents are coming with us and they would love to get the meal plan but I have the AP. It still works out cheaper to get the room discount but they LOVE to eat so the plan would be great for them, not so for us! :rotfl:
