Has anyone watched MK fireworks from Cali Grill deck?

Has anyone been able to watch the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks from the observation deck at California Grill without eating there?

The fireworks are scheduled for 9:45pm this Saturday so I was wondering if you can see the fireworks from California Grill? Will the restaurant staff allow you to go on the deck?

Some time ago, I think they changed the policy.
Only diners can go out on the deck.

But the Contemporary has opened up another deck for anyone.....but it's on a different floor. (the 4th ???? Not sure)

We've watched them from the CG, but that was two years ago before the policy changed. But I think KFischer is right; I agree that they may have opened a separate viewing area.

It's nice if you haven't been in the parks that day. But if you were already in the parks and thus wouldn't have to use a separate day on your hopper, there's nothing quite like having the fireworks bursting above your head. When you watch them from the CG, it's more like you're looking "across" at them.

I was able to go on the deck 2 years ago but this time I am going with my boyfriend who hasn't been on the deck and so I wanted to check if this is still an option.

Just thought it would be cool to see the fireworks from another place.

DH and I have a PS for CG for my birthday June 11 and will be watching the fireworks!

I saw them up there a couple months ago from there.....

I walked into the lobby and asked how to get to the observation deck, and the lady wasn't even nice about it and she said "we don't allow anybody up there anymore".....

so I thought to myself, "well, we'll just have to see" so I took the elevator with my friends up to the top, with many other people, and when we got there, there was somebody directing us to the left to the 'non-guest' deck.....

It was the night of one of the shuttle launches, so we were going up there to see it, so they might have changed their minds that day......
