Has anyone video taped their dolphin swim themselves?

Can you do this from the shore? My DH doesn't want to do the swim and thought he would try to get some pix and video from the shore.

I'm not sure what the distance is from the shore to where the swims take place. :confused3 Is this possible?

Thanks :)

You would not be able to video/photo it yourself, it is sort of like a hidden lagoon.

drat! I was afraid of that...how clever of them

I know I couldnt' walk out of there without their pictures at least.

Thanks :wave2:

We were at DC for the first time last week and LOVED it! Plenty of people took pictures & videos from the shore without any problem. My entire family of 5 did the dolphin swim, so we couldn't take our own pictures. In our group was a mother with 2 children and the father stayed on shore with the cameras. I also took pictures of other dolphin swims as the dolphins did their tricks, so I don't think there should be any problem.

You are about 20 feet from the dolphins. You could get some video, but you won't hear the sound. And if you want pictures, you'd need a telephoto lens. Here, go to my site from a few years ago to get an idea of how far away spectators are.

Bearvet - thanks! Glad to hear you're family had a wonderful time, it's good to know we can try to get some pictures on our own.

Robvia - I thoroughly enjoyed you're detailed trip report and pictures, it's nice to have a better understanding of how things are done and where they are done before we go. Thanks so much.
