US/IOA RCI tickets

...or would it just be better to buy the AP's???

We aren't into "commando" style touring. Like to go in the morning, and back to the pool in the early afternoon, and we can't stay onsite (renting a house with the rest of the family)

So we could easily use 7 days worth of tickets...

Any thoughts?

I bought 3 for my family to use. I used the universal/kiss link that someone posted a few weeks ago to get mine. What I did was buy one Annual Pass for the discounts and then 3 of the buy 2 days get 5 free passes for the rest of my family. If you need 5 tickets mastercard has a deal for 5 tickets.

I just checked and yours is a better deal. Ours is for 5 day tickets for $89.xx. here is the link if anyone only needs 5 days.

there would be a "timeshare" thing involved...the FAQ's don't seem to say anything about it...and only one person has to pick up the tickets...

And RCI does not represent any one particular timeshare developer..

...maybe we should just get the "Power Pass" AP type tickets ( we don't need the premium advantages)

We can't decide which Disney tickets to get either!!! We've got 3 weeks, and are staying offsite for the first time...it's like it's a "whole new world" of Orlando to explore!!

you might try www.mousesavers.com for disney ticket information. They have several different kinds of tickets listed. The power pass sound like it may work for you, just make sure the black-out dates are not when you are there. I forget when they are, but its listed on the website. Good luck!

If you buy these tickets now (trip Sept 2005) will they be able to be used then.

I know they expire roughly 7 days after the first usage, but is there a time period you have to first use them by?

it says that unused tickets never expire, and all sales are final...so I'm *guessing* that if you bought them now, you could use them for your Sept05 trip...but that's why I originally wanted to know of anyone here has used them

There's also a 1800 number to speak to an RCI person....if I call, I'll post back

I might not be looking at the same place, but it says the tickets are good for 7 consecutive days from the first day of use.

I purchased these tickets on RCI back in April for my trip next week. They are for 7 "CONSECUTIVE" days.

If I remember correctly you do not have to be an RCI member (although I imagine you have to know someone that was to have access to the offer) to use these tickets and there is definately not a TS Tour involved. It is a travel perk along with many other that RCI offers. You receive a confirmation number which you bring to GS along with an ID and the passes are issued.

Good luck trying to get help from an RCI CS Rep on this feature. It took me three phone calls but I just kept trying till someone was knowledgeable enough to help. This is true dealing with any aspect of RCI, most times I know more about thier policies than the reps.

You have to enter a date of when you plan to activate the passes and my question was: are you locked into that date or can you move it earlier or later? The answer was you have to notify them 4 days in advance if you plan to change the date.

I will be activating these next week and I am not concerned that I will have any problems but if you want to hold off your purchase till I get back (7/24) I will post me experience with this pass.

Just an update, as promised.

These tickets must be redeemed at "Guest Services". The regular ticket window does not even know what they are. We had no problem redeeming our tickets.

Some of the previous post state that somewhere in fine print the tickets do not expire. As far as as can tell this is only true if you do not activate (use) the ticket for the first day's use. It clearly states on the back of the ticket they expire 6 days after the first day's use.

Jst an FYI..when we were there they always opend the park 15 minutes early and for the first hour to two hours we toured the park with virtually no lines (doing the most popular attractions first) and were able to leave the park by 1pm seeing everything we wanted. That extra 15 minutes makes a huge difference.
