One of the mags I get had a section on using it and it sounds neat. Plus I always loved to watch it curl and shrink! I was wondering if anyone put it through their printer.

I used it when making tags for a swap once. I didn't put it through the printer though. Instead I made die cuts with it. But I believe you can print on it. It's funny you ask this now, because I've been thinking about using it again, this time printing on it.

I have put them in my 'carriage' in online stores about 5 times - then deleted it to spend the money on something else -
I'm just not sure WHAT I would make with them -
RRBB great I deas for Tags - maybe I can use them in the Character swap - I may have to consider this again -
If you guys have sucess with them I wanna hear about it - or even better - see your creations!
Thanks
Patty

i tried it once but it didn't turn out well...but I read on several other boards that it does work.

I think I should have colored it in with markers before shrinking...the printer ink wasn't thick enough or something.

PAtty! You can't use it for the swap;) That is what I am doing! or at least I plan to try! I need to go and get the sheets and try it! Plus buy the right markers if I need to color it in!

oh ok -
so I guess I better read the instructions on how to rethread my little sewing machine - since I used the all of the one that came on it in the last swap! LOL

patty I love the sewing...it just amazes me anyone would even think to sew on paper! And it looks so nice! HAHA.
I really want to try the shrinky dinks! But I don't have time to go and buy some! I hope to go on Monday!

The tag on the left has a shrinky dink snowflake on it. I purchased the shrink plastic online but it doesn't look like that place is selling it anymore. I did find another site that sells it though.

where do I find shrinky dink material? that is a really cool idea!

You can buy shrinky dink material in the children's section of your local AC Moore or other craft store.
I also saw it in the computer section of my local Michaels the other day along with fabric print sheets and magnet sheets for the computer.
My kids used to love this stuff, but now I have taken over all their old supply. Peggie

does it come with directions on how they work and what to do

I didn't buy it -
but I saw yesturday at my local Mikes that they were stocking SHRINKY DINK kits in the scrapbooking/ greeting card section in several different kits! They did appear to have directions in the package and the prices ranged from 3.99 to 6.99.
