Can someone out there tell me their experience with renting a car through Member Services? :confused3

Did you find their rates comparable? Did they give a better discount than you can find online?

(p.s. I figured this belonged here as opposed to the transportation forum since it deals with member services specifically. Please move if needed. Thanks!):flower3:

I have used MS to book car rentals. But I have not for several years. Look on the internet before calling so you have an idea of the prices available to you. Sometimes Member Services is cheaper, sometimes it isn't. It just depends upon what codes and discounts are available at the time.

I checked about 2 yrs ago and the price was much higher than what I found myself on the internet.

I strongly suggest you try Priceline.com. I have used them the last 3 times we rented in Florida-from Ft. Myers Airport, so can't speak to rental in Orlando-but the rates have been at least 1/2 off what I was able to find from lots of other online sites like Expedia, etc. In January we got a Chrylser Pacifica (considered Premium category)for $15/day with unlimited mileage. I want to say at that time it was about $34/day on the other sites. Just begin with a lowball offer and then go from there-it's actually really fun in a weird way to see if your bid is accepted. Kind of like winning the lottery (or not...:goodvibes ) Good Luck!

A second endorsement for Priceline. I just got a room at a premium hotel in Baltimore (right on the inner harbor) for less than half of the cheapest price I saw on any travel website.:cool1:

go ask on the transportation board.

they got my rental down from $200 to $115 (lowest I had even seem) for a bigger car.

someone generally has codes - and some sites will allow you to use codes and corporate discounts at the same time.

I used MS for a rental last November. It was about 30 cheaper than anything I found on the internet. We needed 2 cars. I got ours from MS and my BIL got the cheapest internet deal I could find. Call and compare prices. I had it on hold with MS while I shopped around.

Good Luck!!
