help.....I am trying to book WDW thru Expedia and it keeps saying they don't accept that type of credit card for reservations.
I have tried Visa and Amex......what am I doing wrong?
thanks
Kim

That happened to me too. I called Expedia and they said it usually means there are no rooms available. So then, Expedia conferenced in Disney and I got the Expedia rate through them (Disney). She did have to find a code to match. I think I got CBR for $89. Good luck!

Hi Disney-Kim-
I had a terrible time earlier this month trying to book with both Expedia and Travelocity. I was trying to get a discount on a Jr. Suite at CR (which never happens). I had a terrible experience with both on-line services. Here's the story from another post . . .

I thought I had "beat the system" earlier this week in my attempts to get a discount on a Jr. Suite at CR. I got the new code and called CRO. As expected, they told me no discount. I was later searching Expedia and Travelocity since they often have the discounted rates at their sites. Much to my surprise, I found a Jr. Suite at CR with a "promo rate" of $199 on Travelocity. After doing a little happy dance, I tried to book it. It wouldn't go through and wouldn't give me a confirmation number. So I called Travelocity and was told that they couldn't connect to Disney's system and I should call back in an hour. So, an hour passed and it still wouldn't go through. So, I called again and the girl was able to put the reservation in, but said it would take Disney 24 hours to send the confirmation number and I should call back the next day. So, when I called back, I was told that Disney no longer had the availability and I should pick another hotel. Travelocity was still showing the $199 rate on their web-page. I told them it was ridiculous to be advertising a rate they couldn't give- but they really didn't care what I had to say. So, I moved on . . . Expedia only had the $290 rack rate. So, I called them to see if they would match the rate Travelocity showed. They said Yes and told me all I had to do was book it at the rack rate and then call back and they'd load the discount. I was a little skeptical, but decided to go with it. So, I booked it at $290 and called right back. They were able to confirm that I had been told they'd match the price, but after looking closer, they said they couldn't match the price because Disney isn't one of their preferred hotel chains. I talked to a manager and no luck. I then sent them an e-mail complaint and only got a form letter response. The whole thing was a total waste of time. I will never bother with Travelocity or Expedia for my WDW travel plans again.

We ended up renting points for a 2 bdrm at OKW, so I'm happy but it was a frustrating experience. Good Luck!!

figures it was too good to be true. they had the WL available for our dates and Disney does not. :(

Hi,

We are staying YC concierge and booked thru expedia. Before we
booked I compared AP rates to those I found on Expedia for our
same time and Expedia prices we better. Booking thru Expedia we got about 35%-40% discount. Some of the other discount codes I found also we only for certain resorts or certain types of rooms. Expedia had a pretty good selection I thought. I found some really good rates so we upgraded conceirge. We may be doing DVC next time but if not I'll be sure to check out Expedia again.

I always use Expedia or Travelocity (for personal and business travel) and I have never had a problem with them. I actually just booked CR tower concierge room for $289 a night 2 days ago. I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences. Maybe I've just been lucky. It can't hurt to keep trying for a great rate, though, no matter who you can get it from! That's part of the fun for me.

Good luck!

I too tried to use Expedia to help my sister book her trip, we got the same thing you did. They connected us to Disney and the rooms were not available. We ended up using the mousesavers codes and got a Fort Wilderness Cabin for $139/night.
Good Luck!

Thanks Cali - I asked about the YC/BC and no availability. oh well.....maybe next year we will get to see the re-habbed rooms. ;)

being a former travel agent, i never in a million years thought that i would book anything through expedia.com. but while searching for the best price i possibly could, i stumbled across this deal with expedia that was just to good to be true! i even called expedia to verify that this price was right!! they confirmed it, and so i booked it. i was still apprehensive and here's why. the deal was air from indianapolis, 6 nts at the ASMu, 7 day ultimate park hopper, midsize rental car...two people...total...$950.00. i knew it was an unreal price!! but when expedia confirmed the price and the package, i trusted them. so i booked it. keep in mind, this is for our wedding/honeymoon trip. well, about 2 weeks later, i'm still feeling weird about it, so i call expedia again. the gal looked over my booking and informed me that the park admissions were NOT included and if i wanted to add them it would be another $600.00! i'm just about at the breaking point of sobbing hysterically over my desk at work now. i tried to explain to the gal that the price was confirmed by someone at expedia and that the package said that "for your convenience, 7day ultimate park hopper plus passes have been included". i got nowhere with it. so i called my FH and turned it over to him. he called, got nowhere at first, but kept going until he got as high up as he could. he wound up talking to someone in utah that was like a VP or something. anyway, he explained the situation to her and after trading a few stories between the two, he was able to get her to pay for our park passes using the company credit card! it turned out that it was a computer glitch on expedia's part and he happened to talk to the right person that day and got what he wanted! my hero...

so, i'm not discouraging anyone from booking online....i'm just warning to be careful when you do! make sure that what you are booking is actually what you are getting!! we happened to luck out and be in the right place at the right time...
