I have been considering Dissavers for our Jan trip but after reading some of hte threads on the new discounts it seems you really have to move fast for some of the resorts ( ie WL STRD) and getting hte discounts. Anyone with any experiences yet?

Here's what I did for this winter.
With DISSavers, I do all the leg work and then when I'm happy with the Reservation - I transfer it to them.

So, as soon as the codes came out I got the WL (woods) for 12/4 - 12/8 with the Disney Club Basic Package which totaled 1008 for 2 with UPH for 5 days. (Booked through Disney Travel Co)
I paid the $100 deposit.

Then I transferred the reservation to Dreams Unlimited. My rebate is 10% - $15 handling fee. So the total I owe will be $923.

Just one bit of advice - Make sure you are happy with dates/times/resorts/tickets because you would pay a change fee with DISSavers after you transfer it to them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Tracy!

So if I am reading this right... You made the ressie so you knew you got the "code" rate and then were able to transfer the ressie. They didn't have to cancel it and rebook it ? That what I am afraid of, if they have to cancel it and then are unable to get the code rate. WL seemed to have "sold out " for some dates within hours of the codes being released.

So theoredically I could book my room and then sign up with DisSavers and be garanteed of having my AP rate ? That almost sounds to good to be true? Why wouldn't everyone use dissavers aand get hte 10% back?

I also get the best discount rate possible and then transfer to Disavers. We are going to WDW Dec. 3-10. I got the discount with the CKO code and knew the AP discount was coming-up. I phoned and got a better rate with the AP. I believe this is the best room rate I will get, so transfered the ressie to Disavers. I made the deposit with CRO before I transferred.

Disavers asked me to FAX a statement to them, giving them permission to take over my account. I have trips planned for Jan. and Feb. of next year, but won't transfer to Disavers until I feel like I have the best deal that I can get. If a better deal would come up after the transfer I'm sure Disavers will get me the additional discount, but I am a control freak and want to keep control of my ressie until I'm satisfied with the room rate.

This way I'll get the 10% discount and make sure I get a good discount.

You are correct that DISSavers is a good deal. However, situations are different. You have to make sure that the package or room only ressie would be worth it to transfer.

The cost to join DISSavers is now $49.95 so you basically have to spend at least $650 on a package or reservation to break even. (10% of 650 is $65 - $15 fee = cost to join) But I think it is a great deal for me since I plan to visit Disney multiple times during the year.

So is this right??

In Jan when/ if I get my AP rate I can then sign up for DisSavers and then transferr my ressie over to Dreams and I will get the rebate??

Yes, as long as you book directly with Disney and if you find that you would still get a deal even after you pay for the DISSaver subscription.
