I'm thinking of taking my wife on 25 anv. for a nice 2 nite stay and stepping up at DHL or GC for the Concierge rooms? are the perks worth the cost ?Thanx:wizard:

Welcome aboard. Quite a few people have stayed concierge at one, two, or all three DL hotels.

Feel free to ask specific questions so you can (hopefully)receive the answers you're looking for.

OMG!!!! My son and I just stayed Concierge for 2 nights in July at GC for his 18th bday. There is a great view of Fireworks from the lounge and the music is playing. I had room 6001, next door to the lounge and I was able to watch fireworks from my balcony with my TV on the fireworks channel.
I borrowed a DVD both nights from the CMs at the concierge desk. I stayed up really late. That was nice cuz I was really in the mood to watch Mary Poppins!
My son and I did the Segway tour of DCA one morning. That was a lot of fun!!! Riding Segways thru the park before it opens to the public then you get a group photo and a cool DCA cruisin' pin with a tiny Segway on it. My son is autistic and I wasn't sure if he would be able to ride it but he did great!
The food in the concierge lounge was super awesome and there was lots of it! I did concierge at PP once and they were always running out of everything. It made me kinda mad. so I won't do that again. And they only had food at certain times of the day but GC always had food. It just changed 4 times each day and it was a lot fancier.
I would do concierge at GC again and again.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 2thumbs up!!!!!

I know I'll be in the minority here but when we stayed at the GCH's concierge level it really didn't seem to be worth all the fuss. Yes, the lounge is nice and does offer different things to eat throughout the day but we were at DL! Who wants to spend that much time in the concierge lounge? Maybe if it were in a hotel with little to offer in the way of other activities but not there :confused3

The upgrade is expensive and I can think of many other ways to spend that kind of money that would make your anniversary really memorable. It honestly did not make staying at the GCH feel a whole lot more special than the other times we have stayed there w/out concierge.

I like to stay concierge at the GCH. We always grab drinks on our way to the parks, snacks are awesome, watch disney movies each night, great theme park view! I also like that someone greets you when your car arrives and you dont have to wait in line to check in :) They take good care of you up there. Story time for the kids is nice too.

I have done concierge at both DLH and PP..and I like it however, the amount they charge for it now is just ludicrous....especially if you stay at GH...because one of the perks of concierge for DLH is turndown service but at GC its standard for every guest...so you are paying $100 and more a night for breakfast, drinks, a video, and maybe hors d oeurves...and you can purchase rooms with views without doing a concierge...just for an example here...when I was first checking on rates for our trip next week, DLH offered normal rooms for $230 and concierge rooms for $408...now thats ridiculous...having said that though, because it is going to be your anniversary, I think that is a lovely idea and I hope she realizes how lucky she is to have a hubby who would do that for her:)

The DIS Podcast Team prefers the DLH concierge. They feel the value and food is the best there.

We did the GCH concierge for Christmas one year - only room we could get and it was our anniversary, so what the heck - and we enjoyed it. Wish we could have stayed more than one night to really get our money's worth!
