Has anyone used BOTH of these discounts for SW?

The SW prices for the first of October are CRAZY(Nashville to MCO), so I am trying to do everything I can to cut our cost. I am thinking of applying for the SW Visa credit card b/c I can get one free round trip ticket after the first time I use it. (We would then destroy the credit card, as we are not "credit people.") Also, I have entered our email in the code listed on these DIS boards...the one where you can get $25 off each person's flight by going to the visit Florida site. I am assuming I could use both of these discounts. Has anyone done both of these? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Be careful destroying the card, you will have to cancel the account or get charged another annual fee next year ($59).

Be sure to look at the fine print. It's 8 credits for opening an account plus another 8 credits for transferring a balance. 16 are needed for a free ticket. If you are not "credit card people", do you have a balance to transfer?

You would probably have to do the free ticket on a separate reservation. Keep in mind that the free tickets are not available on every flight.

They are one of the best in being able to actually Use your Free tix but as already stated, there is no guarantee.
Applying, accepting, using them closing the card, does not bode well for your credit score, so I think you may want to really think this all out before going this route. Good Luck!
