Has anyone used Bitly Plantar Fasciities Socks to help with walking for WDW?

I know there was discussion about KT tape and I was wondering if anyone used Bitly Plantar Fasciities Socks or arch bandage to walk around the parks?

I need every help I can to help with my November trip. In April trip to WDW, I had such a horrible time with my feet, I had miserable time. I couldn't walk because I was so much in pain. I do have professional orthotics but its not helping.

I read in Amazon how people have used Plantar Fascities Socks or arch bandage to parks and it helped. Wondering if anyone here has the experience with them?

Or is KT tape better?

Thank you.

I don't have these specific ones, the ones I used most recently at disney I bought in 2005 if not before (magnet and foam cushion under the arch, rubber-strech wrap with clear velcro end) from a dance store. I now have ones from footsmart.com but the strapping is all velcro and itches me like crazy. I do prefer KT tape. Anything helps, really. Even just target socks with the arch band help, but when I put on KT tape I feel immediate relief.

If cost is a concern for you, check Marshalls/TJMaxx, they often have KT tape, or another brand of kieseology tape. It's good to try. If you like it, the KT Pro is the way to go, longest lasting and waterproof. (This is coming from someone who's tried EVERYTHING: night splints, supports, otc insoles, customs orthotics, orthotic shoe brands like vionic, everything!)

At this point, I don't really care about the cost as long as it works.
I will try KT tape. Are they easy to put on? I was looking at the video and little confused because it look like in the video it had some sort of marking on the tape but the ones I saw on Amazon looks like they are plain one color with no markings.

I recommend going to a running shoe store to get good sneakers. That's what I did before our trip to Italy. I have PF and other foot issues. I explained my problems, they watched me walk barefoot and fit me in the perfect shoes. I then went to The Walking Company and got orthodic inserts. No pain at all!

There are two different kinds of KT tape - regular and pro. They seem to use the pro version in a lot of the demos. It has some markings on it. I've used both versions. The pro does seem to have better adhesion, but it's also the more expensive of the two.

And does each color mean anything? Is it just personal preference in color and it does the same thing? On the demo video they use 3 different colors?

Thank you

It takes some trial and error - I use it on my achilles/ankle and my foot for Morton's neuroma. The achilles is pretty easy to apply. The neuroma, not so much, but that's mostly because it goes between my toes.

Color is totally a personal preference. They use different colors in the demos so you can see where each strip should be placed.

I have my doctor give me meds Proxicam and I take it twice a day while there I cannot go without it! I have been miserable before too at WDW. I also bought these https://www.thehealingsole.com and I am feeling much better! :)

I was in need of some help with my PF, I have orthotics and was stretching and had massage, bUT I still had huge issues last summer. The KT tape saved me and helped my feet heel. I found the video showed exactly how to tape me feet. I wore socks to bed this helped keep the tape on longer. No problems showering didn't cause it to come off, but I did find swimming caused it to come off sooner. I recommend the KT pro more cost effective and I loved the pink and purple tape cause it's fun!
Good luck.

Also don't for get to roll your feet every night with a frozen water bottle or a golf ball. Works wonders.

My husband has PF and now gets shoes from kuru. Much better than his custom orthotics for him.
You could call and talk to them.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Just wondering, has anyone tried getting cortison shot on their feet?

I'm very tempted to try that before going to WDW.

Been fighting PF & heel spurs for 15 years and had cortisone shots multiple times. I can only recommend that if you do plan to get them that you do it at least a week or so in advance, just in case you have any complications from it. Doing a lot of walking right after the shot (like within 24-48 hours) can also cause problems/reactions (note - I am not a doctor, just been told and/or experienced this). Usually it gives more long term relief but in the first few days can be even more painful than the PF itself.

I had them years before and remembered helping. Thank you so much for the tip.
With my insurance I can get it 3 times a year. Do you think I should get the first one soon and get second one week before my trip or will it be more effective if I get the first one week before? Thank you again. I'm willing to try anything to enjoy my trip this November.

I have had 2 cortisone shots in my left heel for what my podiatrist says is the worst case of PF he's seen in the past 3 years. I've also tried about half a dozen inserts, 4 different pairs of sneakers (properly selected/fitted by a professional at a running store), stretches, oral steroids, and prescription and topical antinflamatories. The cortisone shots hurt like the fiery pits of hell for about four days after getting them, but the first one made things about 60% better, and about two weeks after the second shot my foot did not hurt AT ALL. We went to Disneyland a month or so after the second shot, and between the shot, Duexis, antinflamatory topical, and lidocaine topical, I had almost zero foot pain on the trip. It was an absolute MIRACLE after having spent the past two trips hobbling around the parks in abject misery. However, two months later, and the darn heel hurts like heck again, and I have been told the next step is to go see the physical terrorist (oops, I mean therapist). So, while I do think a shot a few weeks before your trip would help you with the trip, it probably isn't a long term solution to the PF. Oh, and for what it's worth, my Chaco sandals are WAY more comfortable to hike around Disney in than any of my 4 pairs of running shoes.

My instinct (again, no certifications to back this up!) would be to get one soon and just see what happens - sometimes the relief can last for years and you might not even need another one. And if you have a major reaction, you know that and aren't panicking right before a trip. If it helps but starts to wear off, I'd probably get the next one a couple weeks before the trip.

I also have done the oral steriods which are a quick fix if your doctor is willing and the pain is really bad. I have found though that those really mess with my mood/frustration level so would do that now, not any time close to the trip.

I'm presuming of course they told you about hours of stretching, icing, inserts/support and all those things but if not I'll be glad to share what has helped me (although I've never successfully got the PF to go away - just make it manageable).

I used the Bitly socks the last two trips. They helped a lot to prevent a flare up. Of course, I also wore super supportive shoes and rolled out my feet every night. Additionally, I drank a lot of orange juice for extra vitamin C (helps me) and took joint supplements with MSM. All in all, those measures helped me walk nearly 30K steps a day for a week.

I do not have PF, but horrible achilles tendinitis. Prior to my 2014 trip,I trued everything but surgery (dr said there was only a 60% chance it would work and it's a a LONG recovery). Anyway, the last thing I tried was active release technique (ART) and dry needling (in my calf). This was done at my at a chiro's office. The first treatment hurt like crazy, but I was able to walk barefoot in 2 weeks and I hadn't done that in 2 years. ART is a different type if manipulation that breaks up tissue so your body can move correctly.

@M&MGirl1 Thank you. Since my trip is for November, I think I will get one in August and another one end of October since my dates for November is 4 through 12. Do you think this spread is okay? Right now my main concern is my trip to WDW in November...I'll worry about the long term later. I had such a horrible time in April trip (WDW), I do not want to repeat the experience.

@marciemi I would appreciate any tips you can share with me. Some days I could barely walk but again, my main concern right now is my November trip. I tried going to 2 different podiatist but their solution is orthotics and obviously both are not working. One did talk about ways to stretch but I don't see any results yet.

And thank you everyone else who are giving great tips. I'm so happy that I got to talk to you guys....people who understand my pain.

Oh, forgot to mention, podiatrist gave me prescription for Naprosyn 500mg so I'm going to try that too.
