Has Anyone Used Amazon.com's Free Shipping On Toy Orders Over $99?

I went last night to order a few toys for DS and my niece for Christmas since they had free shipping on toy orders over $99 and they have the free tigger or pooh promotion for toy orders over $100 that you can use with other promotions.

I know there are restrictions but each of the items I selected had that little blue free shipping truck on their page so I figured I was OK. Well when I went to the checkout it kept putting almost $13.00 worth of shipping charges there. I could not find a code to enter for the promotion and I did not see any mention of extra surcharges, etc. on any of the items.

Has anyone else had any problems? Is it worth my time (i.e. will I actually get an answer) to e-mail Amazon with my problem? I really want to do this soon so I can get the free Tigger before they run out.

Were you shipping the order(s) to more than one address?

Amazon will answer your email. If it's too much trouble, go to a ToysRus to buy the toys. You can also get your Pooh or Tigger there, we did last night.

SSB kind of remembers there being a trick to it, where it defaults to the standard, and you have to CHECK the box to take the free shipping option. Sorry that I don't recall more than that.

It does take a LONG TIME that way, but if for Christmas, guess it would be fine...

:) :) :)

SSB is right! Under the shipping options on the left hand side there is a box that you need to check.

I didn't get the free shipping on the toys - I was ordering books - but I did qualify for the $3.95 shipping charge for the books. The same thing happened to me and I went back and then found the box. After I clicked it, the shipping charges changed from 8.95 to 3.95.

This week I've used the free shipping on toys over $99 and free shipping on other amazon totalling over $25 (certain items). I didn't have any problems and didn't have to check anything. AND for being free shipping, some of the things I ordered on Monday are due today!

I've used the free shipping for many things before (including something I ordered today). When you go to the check out there is the option to change your shipping options and you have to check the box for the free shipping option. It usually does add about 3-5 days so the items I ordered are expected by the beginning of the week after next where had I paid the $5 shipping they'd be here mid to late next week.

I got the Tigger.

Sometimes there is an additional shipping charge because the items are not coming from the same location, but $13.00 seems a little high. As you select your items, you should see a notation whenever an additional shipping fee applies...this does not come off with the promo. If you wish to avoid the shipping charges entirely, you can't order any of those items. I know that I had to pay the shipping on the Tigger portion but that was about $5.00. If you see where the shipping amount was reduced at all, then that means that's the best that you're going to do on that order.

Well when I went to see if I could get it to work tonight it was all fixed. I wonder if there was a glitch in the system last night when I was trying to buy. I didn't even have to select anything special...it just deducted the entire shipping cost and I was not even charged extra for shipping DS's free Tigger.

Thanks for your help! :)

I used it 68 times!!!!!

hee hee hee Sonja.

I took advantage of the Rescue Heroes buy one, get one free that Binny pointed me towards, and it took me 2 days to figure it out, and eventually Binny had to literally walk me through it step by step.

Congrats on wrestling the free shipping offer to the ground Becka
