Has anyone tried selecting an appetizer instead of an entrée on the Dining Plan at a table service restaurant. Sometimes I am not as hungry and would prefer the appetizer. I know this is not an efficient use of credits, but I was just wondering if it was possible?

I ordered an entree sized portion of an appetizer at Boatwright's. All they had to do was check with the chef. If you just want an appetizer portion I would maybe just pay out of pocket and save the credit.

Thanks for the info - I guess this is the type of thing that the answer depends on which restaurant you are eating at. It is good to know that it is possible.

You might be able to do this at a Disney owned restaurant.

At the third party restaurants it is very unlikely because they are reimbursed by Disney based on the rules of the dining plan. Since entrees have to be chosen from the entree section of the menu, it's not likely you'll be able to order an appetizer or side dish instead.
