DH and I will be going to WDW in November and of course I want to lose a few pounds (12) before we go. I always find I do eat better food in the summer, maybe it's all those fresh fruits and veggies and I can drop about 5-7 pounds without even trying but returning to my pasta and comfort food in the winter puts them back on.
Thankfully, I don't like a lot of junk food like poutine (disgusting), greasy fried chicken and loaded pizza (I'm a Margarita kind of girl) but lack of activity is my downfall. I walk a fair bit but it's never enough to trigger a weight loss. I have either maintained my weight or lost about 5 pounds every time we go to Disney. I do know that getting a pedometer helps me step count and pushes me to walk a little further in my day to day life.
Yea, Monaleigh, I usually drop 5# or nothing at WDW. I think I eat more because I think I will walk it off. Apparently not. But it's vacation, and I eat things I wouldn't at home, but have a blast doing it. So, what's wrong with that once a year????? I guess we shouldn't beat ourselves up for having fun on our vacations, and just do what we want![]()
I'm in a simliar boat where I'm trying to lose a certain amount before my next trip in May. So far I've lost 16lbs with my trusty Fitbit & recently adding weight training 3x per week. I'm really hoping I will start to see steady weight loss soon. I'm overall losing, but I could lose 1-2lbs 1 week, & then the next I'm up 3. I know I just need to be patient, but it is difficult.
If anyone is interested in getting together to support each other in this journey, I've created a new post exactly for this here. Hope to see you there!
Yes, Cynister, I know what you mean. I try and try but do the same thing: ie: lose some weight, then gain it back later, then down again. I've started not using the scale every week, it's too depressingI think doing exercise builds muscle, which weighs more. So if we exercise we are getting smaller and firmer. I will try the new thread. see ya there
