Has anyone tried the Appetizers at the Hollywood Brown Derby?

DH will be going to the Brown Derby for lunch soon and while I know we'll be sharing the Cobb Salad, I'd really like to order an appetizer to have after that.

I'm done a search, but I can't find any reviews or pictures of any of these:

Brie, Midnight Moon and Prosciutto Cake
Andouille-crusted Prawn
Feuilles de Brick Napoleon of Blue Affine (okay, not that one as I did a search and the blue cheese will be similar to Cobb's)
Portsmouth Lobster Bisque

Can anyone recommend any of the above? :surfweb:

The lobster bisque was pretty good, I believe their menu changes kind of frequently, I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that

I have had the lobster bisque and the cobb for a meal before and it was good. I think there might be a few more aps than that on the menu.

I had the Brie, Midnight Moon and Proscuitto cake. It was good, the midnight moon being the predominant flavour but the cake was different in texture than I was expecting. I think I was thinking of a crab cake type app, whereas this is more like a sweet cake texture. My only criticism is it was a little dry, but I would probably order it again.

Here's a picture

Dh and I have both had the lobster bisque. Thought it was very good.

I have also had the crab cake app and the watercress salad app.

Dh had another app that he liked that was not on your list. Cant remember exactly.

I don't have pictures either, but they have a cobb salad to compare with none other!!! I never had cobb salad till I had lunch there one day with a Dis Meeting. I wanted a light lunch and ordered the cobb salad and now I have to make a stop there at every trip and have another. I've tried to find one that is even close, but no one makes their's the way they do.:love:

my sister and i shared the prawn and the crab spring roll appetizers on our last trip. both were good but not the biggest standout of our trip. i'd have either again but just didn't "wow" me.

The Andouille-crusted Prawn is exactly as stated: one single prawn/shrimp on the plate. The "andouille-crust" was hardly noticeable, and the single shrimp was on the medium to small side. It could have easily been eaten in 1 or 2 bites & would not be enough to help fill anyone up. I loved the Cobb salad (especially with their ranch dressing instead of their traditional Italian Cobb dressing), but don't suggest the itsy-bitsy prawn app.

Thank you all so much for your very helpful answers! Looks like the lobster bisque for me..... or maybe DH and I will split an entree (seeing as it's lunch and perhaps he won't be overly hungry either)

So my next question is: which of these three would you choose (DH doesn't eat fish) to share:

Sterling Silver Pork-seared Tenderloin, Duck Two Ways, or the Filet?

Thanks!! :goodvibes

We had the Lobster Bisque & the Crab Spring rolls. The soup was very good. The spring rolls were just okay. Enjoy your meal.

I had the duck in October. Loved it. Tried to go back later the same trip for a second time for the duck, but wasn't able to.

I loved the potato crusted crab cake they used to have...but it's no longer on the menu. I thought it was one of the best appetizers anywhere at WDW. I had the Andouille crusted prawn the other night and enjoyed it.
