Hi,

Looking for info for anyone who has traveled the auto train with food allergies.

Was there anything safe to eat? Were there alot of peanut products around?

Thanks!

We just took it home with my daughter who has many food allergies including peanut. We brought our own food, I don't think I would have felt comfortable having her eat their food. We just brought it to the lounge car, wiped it down and ate. There were no problems at all.

Thanks. Were there alot of peanuts/nuts around in the lounges and near the sleeping seats? It is already booked up for sleeper cars so we would have to sleep in the regular seats.
Did they have regular snacks, like chips and stuff that were safe. or cereal and milk?

Thanks.

I didn't see any peanuts in the lounge. There were other snacks but I didn't even bother to check. We had a sleeper and it was very clean. We didn't walk through the coach area.

I remember seeing mini- cereal boxes on the tables as we walked through the dining car.

You're on it for such a short time, that it'd be easy enough just to bring some food just in case. I don't know how much they can accommodate (we didn't ask, but when we said we weren't eating because of allergy issues, they said that made sense with no offer to accommodate us.) But as far as cross-contamination on the seats and stuff, we didn't find that to be a problem.

Thanks so much. I spoke with my son and he was okay with us bringing food for him. I mean he is going to Disney......
Unfotunately all the sleeper cars are booked so we will have the coach seats. But as you said, you are on the train for such a short time, Ithink we will be okay.
Thanks again.
