I booked CRT for breakfast as a surprise birthday present for my wife. Our DS's are 5 and 3. They call the castle Mommy's Castle and I see that there are swords given to the boys. But being princesses, do boys like it? We like to do a character meal every trip-Cape May, CM and CP so far. I'm not sure if I should change it to something more boy friendly?? Any advice and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

i will say the one trip we did cp instead of crt my ds who is now 14 i think he was 7 or 8 on the trip was dissapointed we didnt eat with the princesses

and now that he is older im sure he will enjoy it more

:yay: I took a 4 year old and a 6 year old to CRT and they loved it!
They got to take pictures with Cinderella by themselvs and they kissed her hand. They received plastic swords that they loved and play with to this day. They loved the food. Thery ESPECIALLY loved the little chocolate crowns on their ice cream. The boys loved it more than the girls. Cinderella and the CM's and the Fairy Godmother called them Prince or Sir or His Royal Highness and they just laughed and giggled and called each other that and kissed mommy on the cheek. Go for it! :thumbsup2

You will have fun. Merry Christmas!:cheer2:

You know if you want quantity of food though and variety the boys also liked Chef Mickey because of the napkin twirling and the dancing. CP is also great. But if you have the 2 table services per person for CRT I say it is a really nice picture that you get from the experience. You get one picture free plus like 4 little ones per table with Cinderella. Comes with the meal.

Our son was 8 when we went to CRT. We went for breakfast and he had fun! He is a great sport going to these princess meals with his little sister.

We also stress to our kids that when we go on vacation, the vacation is for everyone! We will do things that they love but we also must to some activities that the adults like to do also (like eat at Cape May so the adults can have seafood).

We took my son in April when he was five and he really liked it.

He has an older sister and understood that this was her meal choice and was quite mature about the whole thing...even though he wasn't interested in dining there.

But all of that changed as soon as we walked inside the castle. He was awestruck with the surroundings and really liked the food but the sword and wishing star were the icing on the cake. He had a great time even though he was too shy to get his picture taken with the princesses.

In fact, he had such a great time that he was disappointed to hear that we are not going to the castle to eat with Cinderella again next time. :lmao:

we took our son when he was 3 and he loved eating in the castle. He like he got a sword and alot of attention from the princesses.

Thanks everybody!! I will keep my ADR and hopefully keep it as a surprise for my DW's birthday! Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

We took my ds to Akershus about 6 weeks before his 5th birthday. He *LOVED* it. The princesses were AWESOME and treated him like the most handsome prince they'd ever seen. His eyes were huge like saucers, and he literally ate up the attention. In some ways, I think he liked it as well as or better than meeting Buzz and Woody. ;)

My son is 9 now and he *always* asks to go to CRT for breakfast. (It's usually the 3rd request, with CA Grill and Tusker House being above it.) He isn't really into characters but I think he just likes the cool factor of the castle. :)

Hi Quay

It is so sweet that you are doing this for your wifes birthday. That makes you an awesome husband! Something really pretty you can buy as an extra for her birthday at the castle is the chocolate slipper with mousse on an angel food "pillow". It is approximately $12 and they write happy birthday in chocolate in the plate "Princess Mommy" with her name. It is so sweet when it comes out with the desserts. You have to call the cake line to order it. It is easy. (407) 827- 2253 They can do it in white chocolate or dark chocolate. They also put a few berries and you can add rose petals for an extra charge.

We haven't done CRt, but we took my 3 and 9 yo boys to Akershus this year and they both loved it. My 9 yo wasn't sure at first, but he got into once the Princesses started making over him.

My DS loved CRT when he was between the ages of 6 & 8 (now at age 17...not so much). Castles hold lots of intrique for little boys, and I think yours are at a great age to go.

we have a five year old daughter and 3.5 yr old son and take him to crt....that is a dining experiece for her, so we bend and do it even tho it's the two credits. but he gets his pick and chooses chef mickeys. in my opinion it all works out fairly.

and i think the princesses have a thing for the cute little boys ;)
