Has anyone stayed in the Villas yet?

I booked a 1 bedroom preferred view suite in the villas for our May trip. It looks amazing! I'm just wondering if they're as nice as they look. I'm hoping we get a Princess and the Frog themed suite because that's my daughter's favorite move. I might call to see if I can request it.

Do you check in in Fantasy or is there a desk in Discovery tower? How is the walk to security? Anything else to know about staying in that tower?

Thanks!

I have stayed in a studio and a duo studio. Villas are nice and the towers is great. The only negative is the long walk. Everything else is great. We just checked in at the regular front desk when we stayed. Have a wonderful time.

How exciting! I think you are going to love it. We stayed in a 1 bedroom Villa last January to celebrate our anniversary and I fell in love. It was just the two of us so we had more room than we could use, but I think it'd be great for a family. The living room has a Murphy queen and a fold down twin. There are two restrooms and a separate door for the master bed and bath. The soaking tub is a bit short/small, but DH and I are both pretty short so it worked well for us. My only major complaint was that I felt too out in the open on our balcony. Since not everyone had one, it made me feel like I was sticking out like a sore thumb!

Oh! And we had a Princess and the Frog room...I think all 1 bedrooms are themed to that if I'm not mistaken. I had a fun time taking selfies with Tiana 🤣 I'll drop some photos below. Let me know if you have any questions!

Lol it helps if I answer some of your questions too. Yes, you check in the Fantasy tower just like the normal DLH rooms. The walk to security isn't bad at all, it's only a few extra steps from Frontier.

The palette pool (DVC, but any other DLH guest can use it) has a really cute Steamboat Willie splashpad. I was almost ready to check it out myself 😁 I love the new pool area though and all the bright, vibrant colors. Be sure to check out the Palm Breeze bar next to the palette pool too!

When going to DCA we mainly used the Pixar Place entrance (security was only there until 12pm for entering the park, but not sure if that has changed). It was super easy and quick!

Thanks for posting the pictures! It looks so nice. I can't wait :)

Thanks for answering my questions, too! I always vowed never to stay in Frontier again because of the walk and now it looks like I'll be even farther lol. Not by much, though. I hope they change that 12:00 rule at the Pixar Place entrance. It's such a great feature.

ps. Love your Tiana selfie and that cute backpack on the sofa.

Thank you! I looked at the duos too and will probably try those sometime.

No prob! Yes, that's my beloved Groot loungefly. I am going to be gutted if/when it breaks or wears out, but at least there is eBay!

Another few thoughts:
I really appreciated having the full kitchen. We made breakfast each morning. Which reminds me, they have bowls, plates, silverware and glasses for 4 people. There was also a cutting board, knife, and a spatula (I think a mixing spoon maybe too). And a toaster (it was tucked away in a cabinet).

The unit has a washer and dryer and a dishwasher (along with a full fridge, microwave, and stove with cooktop). They provide detergent for one load. We didn't use the dishwasher as I just hand washed the few things we used each day.

We are staying in a studio this June and I must admit that I am a bit bummed to not be in the 1 bedroom again. 😂

I've been in the studios a few times and a Duo studio once. I don't like the Duo, but it's okay for a place to just sleep if you are solo. I love the deluxe studios.

Yes, the walk is a few steps more than the frontier tower. While you can check in at the normal place in the fantasy tower, I've been checking in on the App and then getting a key in the lobby of the VDH tower. The digital keys are so buggy that they have someone standing in the lobby of the building who can make key cards from their tablet.

There's a new dinner lounge where Steakhouse 55 used to be. It's very good!

How exciting @Pluto468 !!! I haven’t stayed there yet but have been in the lobby multiple times. If the rooms are as gorgeous as the lobby, I think you will love it! We have also eaten at the pool bar there twice and really enjoyed it. Can’t wait to hear what you think after your trip. Have a wonderful time!!

The kitchen is a big part of why I wanted to stay there. We can make at least one meal a day in there, plus I always need a freezer for my ice packs and mini-fridges just don't work as well. Do you know if they have frying pans or pots?

The washer dryer is also a great feature! I'll be able to pack less since we can easily wash things.

Maybe you should upgrade to the 1 bedroom :)

Thanks! Good to know about the keys. I can never get them to work on my phone.

Is it the Broken Spell Lounge, or is there something else there?

Thanks, Crystal! I can't wait to check it out. I didn't know there was a pool bar, I'll have to try it. I don't drink but I assume they have non alcoholic options and snacks.

Yes, they have a frying pan, a pot, and a baking sheet. I used the frying pan every morning for breakfast. It was nice to have something substantial and warm!
