I just went on my first DCL. We did the 3-Night and fell in love with the boat and the hole package. We want to set our honeymoon for next October on a 7 Nighter. Due to budget restaints, the best we can pull off is this Navigator's Veranda thing. Anyone ever stay in one. Is it good? Anyone have pictures?

I love the navigator's veranda--you get the ability to see out when docking or cruising along, but also some coziness to the veranda, so you aren't in the direct sun. We've cruised in Cat 6s before, but our next trips will be the navigators verandas.

Hi :cool1:
My DW and I stayed in a cat.4 last cruise with 4 in the room.. My DW and I are going in May without the Chillins for our 25th anniversary and will stay in the cat. 7 on deck 5.. The difference is only the openess you get from the railing.. If you have kids you would like the cat.7.. Here are some sites to view the differences.

This should give you plenty of ideas with the ultimate packing list too,

They are a little more cozy and private. The built in bech is nice. It gives more room for people to sit on the balcony with you.

We stayed in a Navigator's on our first cruise. It was nice but take my advice .... take an inside cabin and save the money for more stuff (pictures, remembrances, etc). Besides you will have more important things to do than sit on a veranda!

I beg to extremely differ with Brack. My DH & I feel that our verandah (plexiglas type) is at the very top of our list of favorites on our cruise. We use it a lot during the day & night. Didn't have one once & really missed it.

You asked about the NV - my kids had it last time & loved it. We prefer to be able to see the ocean while we're sitting down, but they didn't mind having to stand up & look out at all. However, they didn't use it a fraction of the time that we did.

Whatever you can afford - go with. :boat:

we've done the navigator verandah on a four night and an inside stateroom on a four night ... for a 3 or 4 night cruise I'd say save money, do inside ... but for a 7 night (or for our 14 night) I'd strongly recommend a verandah ... and the navigagor's verandah is very nice IMHO. :teeth:

Our most recent cruise was our first with a Navigator's Verandah and we loved it! I liked sneeking out there in my PJs and watching us port or the ocean go by. Not sure I would have done that on an open verandah.

We have sailed with an inside room too....I at the very least have to demand an ocean view. Gotta have that light coming in to make me happy! :flower:

The Navigator's Verandah is my favorite! A much cozier feel than the regular. We've had both and prefer the Navigators. The bench is a great place to sit and read a book!

We stayed in one on our last cruise and are booked into one for the next one. I really enjoy being able to look out but also have privacy. I like being able to step out into some fresh air.

***************** has pics of a navigators verandah. This is our fisrt cruise and that is what we chose. We are on a land and sea and to get one of the Deluxe resorts at Disney, the lowest cat. you could pick was a cat 7.

Good luck

We love the navigator veranda...you get a beautiful view, more privacy, and it feels safer on the kid front. We always book this type....the room sizes really aren't any different but the cost is less.....definately worth it! princess: :wizard: pirate:
