Has anyone stayed in a category 12 room?

I have been gathering a lot of usual information about our upcoming land/cruise vacation on these boards. I see mention by people of having category 11 rooms as though that's the lowest (or the lowest they would consider going). To me since the 11 and 12 cabins are the same layout, I don't see the advantage, except location. And the location of the category 12 rooms is similar to many of the category 10 rooms. So if you don't mind the second deck, it didn't seem like a big deal to book a 12. Now I am wondering if I am missing something about the category 12 cabins.
Thanks!

We had two cat 12 rooms on the 2nd floor. My parents were in one room and myself, grandmother and daughter were in the 2nd room. We didn't mind being on the 2nd level. I still used the stairs for almost everything (good way to work off all the food). The difference in a cat 10 (which is what we are going in in March with everyone minus grandma) and a cat 12 is that the bathroom is split. That might be nice. The bathroom size of a cat 12 reminds me of an airplane's bathroom with a shower attached. (Yes it is that small). We just used our rooms to sleep and change. We didn't spend much time in our room, because there is so much to do around the boat.

The only difference between 11 and 12 is location. The 11's tend to be on upper decks in convenient locations. The 12's are underneath the nightclubs where you may hear loud music until late at night.

I figured that many people book a cat. 11 instead of cat. 12 primarily because of being on the higher decks. Although, I didn't realize that cat. 12 sleeps 3 and it sounds like if you have 4 people, you have to go to a cat. 11. That might explain why many write about cat. 11 as being the lowest category. But I guess there is nothing wrong with a cat. 12 cabin if we don't mind the location.

Thanks again.
