Has anyone stayed at the Royal Palm Club lately?

Someone posted back in August that the RPC at the GF had really been stepping it up after guest complaints that quality of food and service had been slipping. I was just wondering if anybody had been there recently. We have a reservation in June. Thanks in advance for any input. :flower1:

Yes, We have been there several times the past couple of months(Aug, Sept and Dec). The food service presentations have made a 180 degree turn around over the past year. My children who are particularly picky have commented how much they enjoy the meatballs, chicken skewers, and spanakopita.

These posts on this topic always make me feel I was a bit gypped! I stayed RPC in Feb of last year (my only time staying there) and was totally underwhelmed by the food offerings. Came nowhere close to the rave reviews around here. In the months since, I've seen pretty much only positive reports all around these boards which describe a totally different experience than what we had.

Glad to hear things are trending up!

Endotoothdoc, I am so glad to hear that. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I have booked it for our 20th wedding anniversary this June.

Thanks for the update.

Your very welcome. I am very glad to answer any questions that you may have regarding the Grand or the RPC.

Endotoothdoc,

I have to ask then, did you notice the wines? Did they have champagne or Sauvignon Blanc?

Thanks so much!

Hello,

I apologize for taking so long to respond to your question. The wine selections in the lounge consist of: a sparkling; chardonnay; reisling; pinot noir; and cabernet sauvignon. Hope that is helpful.

I was disappointed that the hot options for breakfast were the exact same things every day: quiche and sticky bun. I know the continental breakfast is what it is, but at least change up the few hot items. It was this way when we stayed in September and November.

Endotoothdoc! You have a great memory, thanks so much! I like dry wine so it sounds like I will be fine.

Regan 117, the only club I have to compare with is Wilderness Lodge and I think the only hot item there was oatmeal everyday. So I will be thrilled with quiche and sticky buns. I thought the evening appetizers at Wilderness Lodge were really super. I am excited to see how this club compares.

LOL yeah it isn't really a complaint. Just wish maybe they offered a little more variety, even if it was just every other day. It got super boring by day 4 and we ordered room service.
