Has anyone ever stayed at the knights Inn in their apartment? We got a real chap rate for our dates and was hoping it was an OK place. We really don't care about frills. Just a place to lay our heads and shower. Any comments would be appreciated!

Also we are staying the second half of our trip at the Ramada Plaza! Anything on that would be appreciated too!

Thanks!

We are the same as you...as long as we have a clean place to sleep. Well, we stayed there probably 5 yrs. ago, and it was nasty!! So bad, we actually left! You have many more options in the area, than to stay there. I suggest Priceline to everyone! Just get familiar with biddingfortravel.com and plan a strategy before bidding! You can even get a 2* on PL for about $20.

Good luck with your decision.

I stayed there 10 years ago, worse than you can imagine. The Knights Inn chain is ranked dead last by Consumers Reports.

I'll second the suggestion of trying PL. You should be able to get 2.5 or 3* for $25-$30. Much better property and it probably won't cost much more than the dumps you're asking about. I'd try to avoid the 1 and 2* properties.

Think mold, thread worn sheets, towels so thin as to be worthless, carpets that are mildewed and covered with cigarette burns, safety issues and "free" breakfasts that are not much more than instant coffee and stale donughts.

I agree with the above posts. Knights Inn is a definite "stay away from" hotel. The first room they put us in had a very strong moldy/mildew smell. The next one was a little better but not much. We stayed there two nights and just couldn't take it anymore. Plus, they quoted us a rate when I booked it but gave us a different rate when we checked in. I had my print out and the girl at the desk said she couldn't do anything about it. We'd have to contact the main office. She said she'd have to charge what it said in her computer and we could probably get the extra back after talking to "management". It was only a few extra dollars and we should have left then but didn't.

We will never, ever stay at another Knights Inn. We too use Price Line now and have gotten some excellent hotels/motels for the same price as we were paying at the Knights Inn. Price Line is definitely the way to go.

We often stayed at Knights Inn 20 years ago, including the one on 192, and they were great. I am amazed at how the chain has allowed itself to deteriorate to the point that we will not stay there for free! I agree with the above posts - sleep in your car before you stay at Knights Inn

If you are talking about the Ramada Plaza Gateway on 192, we stayed there last Dec. It was okay. Nothing spectacular. It is older but fairly well-maintained. The rooms were average sized. I would stay there again if I could get a cheap rate. We did it as part of a timeshare presentation that also gave us tickets to IOA. They had a pool and I think a putting green or miniature golf or something. It was cold and rainy while we were there so we didn't spend much time outside and didn't even go over by the pool area. It is a good location, close to Disney.
