Has anyone stayed at the Anaheim Portofino Inn?

I'm not sure because based on the Yelp reviews, it sounds like certain types of problems are common. When are your travel dates?

We're going in September. Honestly, I would use the Dapper Day rates and stay at DLH but we are traveling with another family who cannot afford it. They pretty much need something less than $100/night. The Anabella is about $93 a night so I was looking at that as well but they're leaning towards the cheaper property. My husband and I feel like it would be rude of us to stay at a different property than them. I stayed at the Desert Palms in December and I'm thinking it's probably like that?

I stayed at the Portofino on my first trip in 2006. It was clean, nice, and close to the parks. It's not extravagant, but nobody complained on our trip. We stayed in a kids' suite.

Thanks. I'm obviously not expecting a great room considering the price but I'd like it to be clean. I did read in the reviews that there's some construction going on next door

We stayed at the Portofino on our last trip (over Dapper Day last year!). We stayed in one of the suites with the sofa bed in the sitting area (3 adults). We thought it was fantastic value! The room was nice (we even had an ever so slight, heavily obscured view of DCA!), clean and fairly modern. It's definitely a step up from the Harbor motels (Desert Inn etc) - it has interior halls and a bit more upmarket feel. The pool area was nice enough for us to use a few times. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Don't really have much bad to say about it at all! The hallways did tend to get a bit hot towards the end of the day, but it was only a short walk through them to the room, which had great air-con and was nice and cool.

It's just across the road from Desert Palms. It's really not much further, but you will need to cross at those lights (which can mean an extra couple of minutes depending on your timing). It never took us more than 15 minutes to walk from our door to the park gate (and we weren't rushing, because it was hot hot hot!), and we found the 7/11 on the corner really handy for grabbing an ice-cream or something on the way back to the room.

There was construction happening where the Jolly Roger used to be. We were literally in the closest room, overlooking the site. It didn't bother us that much. If you think it might be a problem, request a room closer to the street.

We stayed there in 2012 (i think??) and it was okay. Of course nothing special and like you we were aware that would be the case, but what really turned us off from the hotel were the stained sheets...NASTY.. and black hair in the towels..GROSS. We won't stay there anymore.

Thank you. We went ahead and booked. I'm going with my cousin, her husband and their 2 year old. Its the first trip for all 3 of them. They're still shocked over the price of admission but I did convince them to do 3 days. I dont think they would have gone if the hotel ended up being more than $350 for the trip. That probably would have just been too much for them. We are really excited about the trip and I've already started planning must see rides and shows for our 2 year olds (I also have a 2 year old daughter).
