I'm wondering if there is wi-fi or internet access in the room? I'm thinking about bringing my laptop. I'm thinking no, since I can't find it on their website, but thought I would ask!

I don't know the answer to this but we are staying there in July so I'd be interested in what you find out!

On a side note, I am a bit freaked out that we will get a gross room since we are traveling with our dog and need to stay in a smoking room. :worried: I know that there have been recent renovations there and am just hoping that they haven't saved the smoking/pet rooms for last. LOL!

I just posted a review on the AP on Tripadvisor with a rant about the wi-fi there! We stayed there for four nights the second week in June. As I mentioned in my Tripadvisor review, I have to work when I travel, and all my work is online, so internet access is crucial for me. First, know that AP charges $9.95 per day for wi-fi or $49.95/week - a ridiculous amount if you ask me. I made my peace with it and paid up only to find out their signal was totally unreliable. I take my laptop everywhere and have used it at many hotels, cafes, even McDonalds and have never had a problem. At AP, my signal would bounce from two bars to four to nothing. Simple graphics-free web pages would take several minutes to load. I would be disconnected for no reason at all at times.

When I first checked in, I made it known that I wanted to arrange for wi-fi (sometimes you have to get a code at the counter or pay in advance, so I wanted to take care of anything then). The staff members just dismissed my comment with "you just take care of everything online." Ok. Only when I called the front desk that night with my wi-fi problems, they asked, "Did you get the paper at checkin?" Uh, no. The gal on the phone was going to run the paper up, but I finally told her not to bother. She did give me the phone number for their wi-fi support (as it's all handled by an off-site company). I spent half an hour with their support in a dark room as my family slept (probably close to 11 pm by then :furious:) and got nowhere. They just blamed my wireless card, and had me disabling this and reenabling that. Nothing improved. It just flat sucked the whole time. On our way home, we stopped at my brother-in-law's. I pulled my laptop out (as I was WAY behind on work by that time) and had instantaneous, super-fast access. The problems at AP had nothing to do with my laptop - AP's wifi just stinks.

Other than the wi-fi issue which took up way too much of my park and sleep time battling, I liked the AP. You can't beat the price for that close to the parks. But I won't be back unless I hear their internet access has improved - my time and sanity is too valuable to put through that again.

Thanks for letting me know! I guess I will leave my laptop at home! I'm not paying $50!
