Just got ressies at Renaissance World Gate thru Priceline. Has anyone stayed their? I can't find much info on the hotel as it was formerly Doubletree... Any comments on the hotel?

we are planning to go to WDW in Aug-Sept. I have a certificate from Marriott for 3 nights - cert would be good at Renaissance World or the World Gate.. need help deciding where..
I hear the one by Seaworld is nice, not excited about distance
I know nothing of the one in Kissimee

Thanks

I have never stayed at this particular Renaissance, but I have stayed at two others and both have been very nice. One was in California, and the other in Seattle.

You can get hotel information at the website- www.renaissancehotels.com . Also when you get there, on the locater box enter Florida, USA. (Don't enter Kissimee, It doesn't seem to work!) This will then take you to a screen of Florida Renaissance locations in which this specific one in Kissimee is listed. Click on it and get specific hotel info for Renaissance World Gate.

I got this hotel for my parents for 4 nights from priceline in October. I've been looking for info on the hotel since. I did find out about 6 months ago, it was bought out by Renaissance. Before then it was a Doubletree hotel. I did find a review from about a year ago when it was still Doubletree:

Hope that helps you.

I stayed here last May. Got the hotel (when it was the Doubletree) through Priceline. I was fairly happy with it considering I was staying off Disney Property, which I don't do. It is a seven story hotel with interior coridors. The lobby is big and somewhat formal. The hallways were nice and the rooms were average size, deocrated nicely, clean and comfortable. The furniture layout is different than any other hotel I have been in and worked well. It was very quiet. The bathroom was clean but is very small.
The hotel is off of 192 ( Irlo Bronson Highway) a block or two. 192 was very torn up with construction so drive crefully. The construction didn't seem to impact traveltime. Driving to Epcot from the hotel took five minutes. If you have other questions I would be happy to help, if I can.

We stayed at this hotel last summer, also booked through priceline. We enjoyed our stay there. The pool area is nice although is a little small. Our room had a refrigerator which was nice. The parks are very close by, especially if you take the back way. Be sure to ask about this at the front desk. It saved a lot of time. It only took us about 5-10 minutes to drive to and from epcot and AK. I think you will like this hotel and it's location. Have Fun!
