I'm curious if there's anyone out there who has stayed at Hilton Head during March Break? How's the weather, is the pool open? Does the resort have activities at all? What's open that time of year??

We have a 2 bedroom the second week of March, I'm hoping for good weather :)

We have owned at HH for 4 years now and have yet to stay there during the summer. We have stayed in March several times and the weather can be variable. Last year, we had one or two days where the temps were mid-70's and we enjoyed the beach in the warm afternoon. It's a nice change from March in Chicago. The kids even went in the Ocean. The beach is expansive and there were also many warm tidal pools where our 3 yo enjoyed splashing. The resort has activities, but they are limited in the off season. We found an activity or two to do each day. The beach house and resort pools are open and heated and the HH tub is large and one of the best at any of the DVC resorts.

We enjoyed the relaxing atmoshpere and sleeping in, reading playing games, etc. We've yet to do a lot of island exploring, but hope to do some on our next trip. I really like the resort for a calm get-away during the kids spring break.

Went for my spring break a couple of years ago. It was mid-march, I remember, because I watched the Savannah, Ga., St. Patrick's Day parade on tv. The weather was really miserable while I was there. Rained every day, and the temps never reached more than 50 degrees. I understand, however, that the week before and week after I was there, the temps were 75 or so. I guess it can just go either way. Needless to say, I stayed in my room the whole time, it was just too wet and cold to do anything.

Uh, I hope this is NOT our luck... that sounds really miserable I'm sorry to say... although my kids probably would swim in the cold rain LOL....

As long as the resort has something going on, I think we'll have fun....

Hilton Head during March spring break has been our "regular" time to go. One year it was beautifully warm and sunny all week. The pool was open, but we're only hot weather swimmers. But the weather was great for bike riding and miniature golf during the day. Miniature golf was especially great-no one there. Yes, there was a full activity schedule. But I went also the same year as Candace, I think-cold, miserable, rainy, all week. So it is very variable from year to year.

I agree about variable.
I've owned at HH since before it was finished.
The 1st time I went was in May and we nearly froze-a freak weather front.
Of course the day we checked out was warm and sunny!!

Maybe it's because I only live about an hour away (5 miles south of Savannah)--but I never seem to go to HH--I use my points in WDW.

A year ago I had a res in Sept. (labor day weekend) and a hurricane was expected on the Fl-GA-SC coast--I cancelled the day before but did not lose the points due to special circumstances. The resort was considering closing anyway.

We have been to HHI in July and March. We are headed back this March.

The summer time is more beautiful because it is greener. However, more mosquitos too. March was nice. Less people, pool was open and kids activities were available. We love the campfire!!!

We really like the laid back vacation that Hilton Head provides! :goodvibes

Stayed at Hilton Head this past March and, boy, was the weather spectacular!!! My previous stay there had been over New Years a couple of years ago and the weather was perfect then, too! I'd happily take my chances with the weather there in March (especially late March). Have fun!

Stayed last March. Some days nice, but several rainy days. Easter Sunday it poured and all outdoor resort activities were cancelled. Campfire program was cancelled on another night too. Guess it can happen anywhere you go. We had fun anyway, kids swam in heated pool, attended Goofy bingo, magic show, story telling, dolphin cruise,Outside resort we played minigolf, alligator watch, Harbortown, Salty dog, Sea Pines, bike riding, lots of delicious restaurants, even dipped into the cold ocean! Boy sounds like we were busy having a fun time!!
