I am wondering if anyone has stayed at CocoKey yet? I did go by and look at it, it looks awesome. I know they had some decent grand opening rates but they didn't work for me. I am wondering what is like staying there. I see there is a $19 water park fee per day added to taxes and fees. What if someone were to stay there and not want the water park :confused3 Not that I would do that, if I stayed there it would be for the water park. That leads me to my next question, how is the water park area, is it crowded?

Just found your post and coincidentally just returned from Coco Key a few hours ago. We booked the hotel only about 2 weeks ago without much information to judge anything, but decided to take the risk. We booked a "waterpark special" for 2 adults and 2 kids in a room with a king sized bed and a pull out couch for $99/night. Definitely a good deal. My kids are 4 and 8 and were the absolute perfect ages to thoroughly enjoy the waterpark to its fullest.

Check-in was super easy and we somehow managed to get a room directly overlooking the waterpark. The location was perfect for us. The waterpark was open from 10am-9pm, but it was never crowded any of the times we went (first thing in the morning, mid-afternoon and after dinner). I think the resort was quite empty. There seemed to be a lot of empty rooms, which again, was perfect for us.

I hope that helps. There were some "eh" points, but overall my kids were beyond happy and that was what is was all about.

I am confused on how this place works.. I have read that they charge a $19 resort fee per day for the use of the water park. Then I read that there are deals as you have gotten, the water park room.. How does it work, were you charged a flat $99 and no resort fee? Do you get the water parks everyday you are there? Sorry for all these questions. My DD & niece were interested & wanted me and my sister to book it for all of us.

We booked 3 nights for $99/night, including the waterpark fees. Altogether, after taxes and whatever else there were charges for, the total was under $400. The price on the screen was the full price, no other hidden fees. The waterpark is available from the moment you arrive (even if your room is not ready) and you can use it the full day after you check-out (there are lockers to use to shower and/or change).

The website is absolutely maddening. I tried calling the 1-800 number for more information but that was completely useless. You're calling a hub center, not the Orlando location. The woman I spoke with was unable to answer any of my questions. It was frustrating, but I decided to go ahead and book on-line and take my chances. There were specials for book 3 nights and get the 4th night for 50% off but I didn't take advantage of that.

I just checked the website and there seem to be even better deals for July. Florida Residents can book a night for $83.85 including full use of the waterpark. They are also still running the Book 3 Nights, Get the 4th Night 50% off...

We checked in at about 10am and within 15 minutes we were in a room directly over-looking the waterpark. I wasn't expecting to get a room that fast or in such a great location so it was either good luck or the place was empty... After exploring the resort, we found another large standard swimming pool and hot tub that seemed very nice and exceptionally quiet. There was never anyone in it, but it looked very relaxing. There were families staying in that general area that had a short walk to the waterpark area. I have no idea how rooms are handed out since it seemed there were plenty of empty rooms around the waterpark.

How old are your DD and niece? There were some families with older kids/teens that seemed a bit disappointed. There are 3 nice sized slides for taller kids and adults, but other than that the large play structure with slides and covered kiddie areas were a huge hit for the younger kids - not so much for teens.

I have no problems answering questions. I'll help if I can!

If we were to do it, my one DD is going to be 22 in a month (her idea for it), my other DD is 17 & doesn't want to do it. My niece is going to be 15 in 2 months and my sister would bring her friend who is 15. We would need 2 rooms right? for a party of 5????
From what it sounds like, they may not enjoy it as much as younger kids. thanks for your info... :goodvibes
