I’m Looking at booking a 2 night stay to go to Universal on 12/4 & 12/5. I’m looking for a 2 bedroom suite (going with 4 adults) and was looking at the Holiday Inn across from Universal, however the reviews are VERY mixed. Pictures of bed bug bites, mold, dirty rooms, etc. and then reviews of people raving about their stay. I was hoping to pick somewhere that is walkable to the park, but not objectionable to taking a shuttle.

Has anyone stayed here recently and can share their experience?

I’m also looking at Endless Summer resorts.

Thanks!

We will be staying at the holiday inn for 1 night before my birthday stay at HRH in 3 weeks. Our flight gets in at 1130pm, and I had points to use. I am hoping it is decent enough, but will only be there for about 8 hours.
Endless Summer is nice. We stayed in a 2 room suite this summer. Worked great for our family of 5. Buses are great and timely.

I would go with Endless Summer if that's an option. Those are a cut above the Holiday Inn in many ways, plus you get Early Park Admission because you're staying at a Universal hotel.
The buses are not at all like Disney's; they run continuously rather than every 20 minutes. There's usually another bus pulling in as one leaves.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn but not recently, it was a few years ago. I don't know if they've updated since then but it was looking pretty shabby last time I was there. Rooms were a good size and the walk was easy, it was just old and worn looking. Endless Summer is much much newer and probably a good choice over the Holiday Inn!

Id agree with the recommendations for Endless Summer resorts

Depending on the rates available may want to check Aventura or CBBR as well

I dont like to take shuttles, but the busses are no numerous and quick with Universal that its not a big deal

If there is even a hint of Bed Bugs or Mold at a hotel Id say avoid it for the most part - its not worth the risk and there are a lot of iffy places in Orlando in my experience - even with the big chains

Can confirm no updates. We were there last month for a one-night throwaway room since we had a late flight into MCO and didn't want to spend $$$ just to crash for one night before checking into RPR.

The hotel is quite shabby and is in need of an update. "old and worn looking" sums it up.

We stayed at the one next door to Coco Key and it was awesome. Super clean and seemed brand new.
